If it is just a random goal without a true function, then again the learner may feel it is a waste of time or fail to see the point of actively working towards achieving the set goal. Time-based, without putting pressure on the learner, knowing when the goal will be reviewed could act as a motivator for the learner. Time-based also gives the educator a time for review to see if the learner has achieved the goal, needs further support and creates an opportunity for feedback from the learner to the teacher and from the teacher to the learner such as encouragement or practical advice or praise on their own personal learning journey, rather than as part of the cohort. This will create a feeling of working with the teacher as part of a team that will enable the learner to achieve the results they need or want. If the learner feels part of a team, the stress of facing challenges alone is immediately nullified and responsibility shared will make the learner feel more relaxed and able to focus on the small steps towards a bigger …show more content…
Students are to demonstrate a time when they USED methods of initial and diagnostic assessment to agree individual learning goals with learners, if possible include date, time and day to make it more realistic. For example, on Friday the 8th of February 2019 at 11 am I had a diagnostic assessment with learner xxx we used....... On Monday the 11th September at 2:15pm at the start of Autumn Term 1, I completed an Initial Assessment to highlight any barriers to learning especially for students working as part of a group and to gauge whether students could independently access and complete tasks in digital format. 2.4 Record learners' individual learning goals. Following on from the information shared in question 2.3 from this assignment: After the initial assessment, student xxx was given termly goals, when student xxx could confidently tick and date those goals as achieved within a term of 12 lessons, the goals then remained the same as per agreement with student xxx, but the time frame was shortened to fortnightly and now by Spring term 2, student xxx has 3 of these goals as lesson targets each lesson. When Student XXX achieves all 3 targets within a lesson, Student XXX then has a choice of a 5 minute movement
