Explain Why I Want To Attend A Service Academy
Why I want to attend a Service Academy and why I feel that I am prepared to do so? I want to attend a service academy because it combines my desire to join the military, advance my education, and my desire to be the best that I can be. The academies are very prestige’s from what I gather and are ranked among the very top military colleges in the nation; that alone pecked my interest from the moment I heard of the academies. I have also wanted to be in the military from a very young age having great respect for the men and women who served in the armed forces. With these things in mind along with my desire to be the best that I can be the academies seemed like a no brainer. They have everything that I’m looking for a good education, military

    Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage are the seven basic values of the army. JROTC helped me grow as a person and let me interact with people that I would have never interacted with before. I developed social skills and a good work ethic during my time in the JROTC. Over 50% of students in high school were in the program. I helped over a 100 students with basic army movements and discipline skills.     I enrolled in JROTC mostly because of my family. My dad was in the US Air Force and retired shortly after I was born, my oldest brother joined the US Navy about 2-3 years ago and my sister joined the early entry program for the US Navy and is going to boot camp in July, my brother was practically born to join the US Marines, and 3 of my 4 brothers have been or are in JROTC. It was only natural and the sane thing to do that I joined JROTC because we are practically a Military oriented family and I wouldn’t want it anyother way.
