Predators will know where to go just like Arnold Friend did. Teenagers have the misconception that nothing will ever happen to them, they believe it only happens to others. Consequently, this will happen to many people, whether it is because they are inexperienced, naïve, or because they choose to make the wrong decisions or choices. The lesson to learn is that you got to be careful for what you wish…
Juvenile justice is the area of criminal law applicable to persons not old enough to be held responsible for criminal acts. Juveniles should be convicted as adults for their violent crimes no matter what age they are because they knew exactly what they were thinking and doing at the time the crime was committed.…
Every year about two hundred thousand minors are prosecuted as adults. Most of these are for nonviolent offences. This is two hundred thousand minors that are now subjected to so many negative effects from being falsely considered an adult, when they were not mentally or physically an adult yet. There are many reasons why minors should never be tried as an adult, their psychological and psychosocial maturity, social maturity, and the effects being in an adult facility has on a minor are the three reasons that need to be elaborated on now. Psychosocial maturity is defined as the general level of an individual's socioemotional competence and adaptive function.…
Meaning if a minor is helping the poor and then share the location to try to convince her friends to join the good case. There needs to be a fine line when it come to that. The reason for that, let say that before that picture. This person shared a sexual picture and then a pedophile see and like the picture. Then the pedophile see the post of where this person is and then goes to that place.…

Now people say that the drinking age should stay the same but the legal adulthood age is 18 so why can’t the drinking age be lowered to 18? At the age of 18 you have the right to vote, to get married, join the army, and on top of that you could have contracts, so the drinking age should be lowered to 18 as well.(drinking age procon.org) Once you are 18 you should be able to have the rights to make your own decisions to buy a drink you want a drink.(newsweek.com)…
Most children are very excited about turning 18 because it means adulthood, running off to college, and gaining freedom. When turning this age, you are allowed to join the military, get married and receive all the rights and responsibilities of an adult. However, having a wedding at this age means that during the celebration, one is not allowed to share a glass of Champaign during the toasts because the drinking age is 21. The United States is one of the few countries in the world to have such a high legal drinking age. Therefore the drinking age should be lowered to 18 because you are able to sign your life away and go to war, young adults in other countries are able to handle the responsibilities, and the different age limits do not coordinate with the responsibilities.…
In July 2008 Mr. John McCardell (Founder, Amethyst Initiative; Former President, Middlebury College) formed the Amethyst Initiative, which states, the drinking age in Maryland should be lowered on the premises of college campuses. A majority of major league college presidents concur with this, because they too believe the drinking age should be reduced, spending thousands of dollars per year to regulate students and ensure the underage students aren’t drinking. Because so much money is put towards patrolling the drinking, it is taken from the money that could’ve been used for educational purposes.…
Have you ever lived in a small town with nothing to do and no one around? I have many times and one time I decided to get into my uncle’s alcohol cabinet. I decided to try some and I liked it and the way it felt so decided to drink some more and I agree it was a nice feeling until the next morning. The next morning, I had a bad hangover when I woke up. That night was fun and adventurous also I went out into the woods and shot my first fox that night because it was attacking our chickens. The point of my story is that there aren’t many things to do in a small town to get a thrill so you do things like what me and many other people who live in a small town. Although some believe that the drinking age should remain the same, I believe that it should be lowered to 18 because it will diminish the thrill of breaking the law, we can do other important things when we turn 18, and other countries have lowered or got rid of the drinking age so what makes our brains any different.…
What age should a child be considered and adult, I believe that a child should be considered an adult when there legally 18 yrs. of age. When someone turns 18 yrs. of age there aloud to vote, drive, work and do lots of adult like things. When a child legally turns 18 yrs. of age, they should be considered an adult…
Alcohol is a drink that is a huge part of today’s American society, it’s used to make toasts at weddings and even included in certain religions. However, it has the ability to impair judgment and cause people to be reckless. Therefore, in the United States, there are laws regarding alcohol consumption. The most recent and ongoing controversy regarding drinking is whether the legal drinking age should be lowered from twenty-one to eighteen. Lowering the drinking age from twenty-one to eighteen would be an effective and beneficial step to help reduce alcohol-related accidents and deaths, encourage safe drinking activity, and allow those of legal adulthood the opportunity to fully and responsibly make adult decisions.…
People argue on lowering the drinking age to eighteen whether it is a good idea. Some teenagers start experiencing drinking in high school. Many teenagers think there is nothing wrong with a drink every now or again at a party. In fact, many teenagers see drinking alcohol as an important stage in becoming an adult. For this reason, teenagers are more temped to consume alcohol. The legal drinking age should be lowered from twenty-one to eighteen because eighteen is considered to be a legal adult, it will help with economy, and help teenagers have a safer environment.…
There is a giant debate on what the legal minimum drinking age should be in the United States. Many people think that it should remain at 21 years old and others believe that it should be lowered to 18. While both have their own various reasons, this has been an important topic in our country for a long time. President Ronald Reagan signed and passed the National Minimum Drinking Age Law in 1984 which obligated states to raise their legal drinking age to 21 or suffer reductions in Federal highway funds. The highway funds and drinking age was linked together by the young lives lost on our highways. Even though this was a satisfactory reason to raise the drinking age there are still more reasons to why it should be 18. Despite what most people…
Drinking at an early age has been an ongoing discussion among young Americans and their opponents, their parents and, elders. Much adolescence believe that setting the drinking age at 21 does not make any difference, and it should even be lowered to 18, as many other countries hold. Even though there is no proof that not legalizing drinking age at 21 genuinely makes a difference, US should not lower the drinking age, and should maintain it at 21 years old.…
Students under the age of seventeen have a curfew of 10 pm Sunday through Thursday and 12 am on Friday and Saturday. The curfew ensures that all students should have no business in a public place or out on the streets late at night. There are obviously some valid reasons why this is enforced and I am completely in favor of this decision.…
