Regulations are acts and laws that organisations and care workers must follow. The Care Standards Act requires providers of healthcare services to ensure that care provisions are fit for purpose and meets the assessed needs of people using the services. The NHS and community Care Act requires that all individuals are appropriately assessed and care plans are put into place. Care workers need to ensure they understand the regulations regarding provision and standards. Health and safety laws such as Health and Safety at Work Act, Food Safety Regulations, COSHH, RIDDOR and so on, need to be followed to ensure individuals receiving care are safe and free from harm.
