I can definitively, and honestly state that Paul L. Foster School of Medicine is the school of which I have the greatest interest in attending. For eighteen years, I have called the border city of El Paso my home. Our amiable and uniquely culturally diverse population is the reason that I have found living in El Paso to be extremely comforting. The loving nature of the people of El Paso allowed me to develop many friendships, which helped create countless beautiful memories. I want nothing more than to continue my education in El Paso, and to watch this city continue to evolve. Further, I wish to practice medicine in this community which has given so much to my family and me.…

“This is a diverse community that is Christ-centered, people-focused, student-oriented, quality-driven, and future-directed”. Out of the above Mission Statement, student-oriented sticks out the most to me. My love affair with Mount Holyoke began quite innocuously, as many loves do. Exactly two years ago I received some mailings from the college—I originally began liking the school because of my intended major. However, in the last two years, I have found all the more reasons to deepen my adoration of Mount Holyoke College. The liberty of a liberal arts education will not only allow me to focus on my intended major but will also allow me to broaden my horizons to discover new areas of interest. My academic career at Mount Holyoke will be a drastic change from my high school career. Studying at Mount Holyoke College would be similar to discovering new land.
