Explain How Young People Have Often Spoken Of Wanting To Foster An Inclusive Society

Politicians have often spoken of wanting to foster an ‘inclusive society’. How might we ensure that this society includes its young people?

Older generations feel that as society is changing, younger people are not as included in what elders are used to when they were young. This makes elders feel that younger people have become more ‘anti social’ due to the new technology and youth clubs provided. As technology is improving, the elderly are incapable of keeping up therefore are still used to their old ways making them think that the society is inclusive. In source A it mentions that when doing a small survey that ‘young people themselves feel that they are misunderstood’ This shows that young people are aware of how society is changing and the older generation are unable to keep up. There are many social groups for the elder generation that enjoy being taken part in as its their way to do something active and to gain new friends. These events include things like bingo and bowls. This is also a way in which the younger society can be included as it enables them to take part in activities with maybe their family members and to make the elders feel
This may include going to play sports or joining clubs. Many of these young groups have a lot in common as they grow up however having this much time on their hands means that they can surely spend time with people of older age making the elder generation comfortable in being in places with groups of people.
