Protection of Children Act 1999 - the registering of names of people who are unsuitable to work with children. Safeguarding vulnerable groups Act 2006 - making sure that adults working with children and other vulnerable groups are vetted not only in childcare organisations but also in organisations such as junior football clubs, junior gymnast clubs etc.
