Music has different genres such as Pop, Rock, Jazz, R&B, Hip-Hop and etc. Out those various types of music I’ve been listening to, the music that has captured me the most is Korean Pop which is also known as K-Pop. K-Pop has several elements in it such as R&B, pop, rock, hip-hop, electronic and even ballad. It is said to be a huge hit not only in Asia but also worldwide. But what’s with K-Pop on why it became a huge trend to us? It’s because of the artists or let just say idols who make Korean Pop more enjoyable and entertaining.

Some famous idols in Korea are Girls Generation, 2NE1, BigBang, Super Junior and more. These idols sold thousands of albums, gained millions of views on their music videos and receive numerous awards inside and outside Korea. But there is this one K-Pop group that just made me love K-Pop more and it’s no other than EXO.

EXO is a 12 membered South Korean-Chinese boy band under one of the most famous Korean Entertainment in the world, SM Entertainment, who debuted last April 2009 with their first album entitled “Mama”. They are separated into two subgroups namely EXO-K (Suho, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai and Sehun) and EXO-M (Kris, Xiumin, Luhan, Lay, Chen and Tao) which stands for Korean and Mandarin respectively. They have a lot of specialities such as singing, dancing, acting and even as entertainer since each member was trained for almost 7-3 years before debut. They have been busy in Korea and China due to their promotions.

EXO has been a successful debut to the K-Pop industry. They we’re promoted very well by their company in the public since their Teaser Era up until now. That’s why they are entitled as the scary rookies of year 2012. When they made their comebacks this year with “Wolf” last May and “Growl” which was last August , EXO has once again take the spotlight as one of the greatest K-boybands in Korea. They made a huge record of albums sold

The Korean entertainment industry for a long time studied and understood the concept of soft power and its uses on the world stage. They knew the only way to penetrate an American cultured global concept of the entertainment market is not by riding against the tidal wave of US cultural imperialism, but to adopt it. They understood that in order to appeal globally and make it, they had to transform the popular K-pop music production to be more American. And today, in the soft power stage, K-pop is considered to be South Korea’s most powerful weapon on the world stage. Bringing in revenues of billions to the country and making the country a top recognized business hub for investors from around the…
