Excalibur Theme Song
While many sports team have used O'Fortuna, which was made famous in popular culture by the 1996 movie Excalibur, as a battle song, the masterful theme song for Excalibur often gets over looked.

What makes the theme song of Excalibur one of my favorite listens, is the story told it tells.

I imagine being on my horse wearing my majestic armor, riding slow, dramatic, with purpose towards the gates of Camelot, flanked by King Arthur and his knights, and then horses began to hasten and the soft prelude becomes a rhythmic gallop that climbs like the songs suspenseful Bridge, and we engage the enemy and we are victorious in glorious battle, and the song timers to a mellow coda, and then, the Excalibur theme song doesn't end with a triumphant

The soundtrack “Tenuous Winners/Returning Home” can be heard here. Bocook utilizes poignant swells of sound, as well as tenuto markings and slurs on notes to effectively symbolize the strong feeling of despondency in the victors, despite their survival and returning home. The music then abruptly changes in measure 29 to the theme “Horn of Plenty.” Bocook stirs the audience back to life with the sudden crash of a cymbal, followed by the full volume of trumpet fanfare in the arguably most memorable soundtrack from the movie. In contrast with the first section of the arrangement, “Horn of Plenty” has a faster-paced tempo as well as louder dynamics, emphasizing and contributing to the memorable and moving theme. Staccato and accent articulation markings in this section also powerfully reflect the triumph and victory the Capitol is experiencing during the…

The theme of “The Bass, The River, and Sheila Mant” is that it’s hard to truly love to different things with all your heart equally. You see this even in the first statement to a point, “There was a summer in my life when the only creature that seemed lovelier than a largemouth bass was Sheila Mant.” Also we see this when Sheila says “I think fishing is dumb…” when the main character clearly loves fishing more than anything except maybe Sheila herself. Right after that he decides that ,for at least the time being, Sheila is more important than fishing and so he starts to put his rod away when the biggest bass he’s ever seen gets snagged. This is the main conflict and where I believe we see the theme clearest as our main character struggling…

Contrastingly, the song ‘Bolero' in scene five symbolises the high spirits, determination and triumph of the women. This is emphasised by the quote "We forgot the Japs-we forgot our hunger-our boils-everything…Together we made this glorious sound that rose above the camp-above the jungle-above the war-rose and rose and took us with it. Fifty voices set us free." This use of music conveys the meaning of the themes of heroism, comradeship, the will to overcome oppression and survival.…

“I've got a pretty good idea what children are, and we're not children. Children can lose sometimes, and nobody cares. Children aren't in armies, they aren't commanders, they don't rule over forty other kids, it's more than anybody can take and not get crazy" (Card, 8.134). This shows the immense pressure put on children to behave more like adults throughout Ender’s Game. Ender’s Game has an action pact plot that focuses on the main character, Ender, maturing into a commander to save the human race. The story starts out with Ender being a young boy who is very intelligent in a school with regular kids. He is being monitored by the International Fleet so that they can decide whether he will make it into battle school. After many stressful encounters…

In fact, many people remember the opera because of the overture. In the William Tell overture, it is famously known for its fast paced, high energy finale. The overture is seen in both classical music and popular media and is most commonly recognized as the theme music in the American radio, film and television shows of The Lone Ranger. In addition, it was also the theme music in the British television series The Adventures of William Tell and in the film A Clockwork Orange. The overture is considered to be a masterpiece and is Rossini’s best…

Most people live dejectedly in worldly sorrow and joy; they are the ones who sit along the wall and do not join in the dance. The knights of infinity are dancers and possess elevation. They make the movements upward, and fall down again; and this too is no mean pastime, nor ungraceful to behold. But whenever they fall down they are not able at once to assume the posture, they…

Finally, I’d like to point out a few more differences between Le Morte d’Arthur and Excalibur. The people who surrounded Arthur (his knights) in Le Morte d’Arthur were different from the people in Excalibur. First of all, in Excalibur, only one knight survives to return to Arthur, while in Le Morte d’Arthur, two knights survive to return to Arthur. Also, in Le Morte d’Arthur, Sir Bedivere throws Excalibur into the lake, while in Excalibur; Sir Percival throws Excalibur into the lake.…

Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum is a classic tale filled with political ties and hidden messages. These massages have been passed throughout history and preserved in the book. The movie has managed to keep these themes in tact, not only that but enhance the symbolism. The conflict in this book, whether it be the actual political conflicts at the time or the imaginary focus that happens to be the climax of the book are very complex and deep.…
