Transcendentalists
There are Two different types of people in the world. Some people believe that the only way to get stuff done is by doing it yourself. They attempt to be completely independent because it is difficult for them to trust others. Other people are dependent on others to help them with everything they do. It all depends on their personality. I have learned over time that the ones who will succeed in life, are the ones who accept help from others. Once one hits the age of a teenager all your responsibilities dawn on you. At this age there is a ton of pressure to succeed, whether it's academics or just in life. Although many may not realize it, teenagers feel as though they must live up to the standards

Two years ago, when I needed to decide what I wanted to do for the summer, I was very conflicted. Most of my friends were signing up to work as counselors at a day camp. I wasn’t really interested in this and convinced my parents to let me look into travel camps. I was perfectly fine going alone on this amazing trip around the West coast. In my mind I could meet tons of new people and that I would be fine. In the end, I was able to get a group of 5-6 girls together to sign up for this program. Although I was completely satisfied with going on this program alone it made a big difference to have some friends with me. It was comforting having some of my close friends with me and allowed me to create amazing memories with them. I realized that even if I had attended this program by myself I would have had an incredible experience although having some of my best friends there made it that much better. The scenery still would have been amazing and we would have done the exact same activities but the people that surround you really changes the entire experience. As we say nowadays “its not where you are but who you are with”. I was able to have both; go on an amazing trip around the West coast and experience it with great

Teens are the future. They have to learn many things at a young age to achieve big goals later on in life. Parents want the best out of their teens and it can be very stressful for the teen when the parents start to talk to them about getting good grades and giving them bigger responsibilities. Many teens have a lot to deal with, that some of those teens can't handle it. They can turn to cheating on test and getting involved into drugs to relive their stress. If the teen is in a family that has little money they will have to work harder as a child because they might have a smaller financial support than teens in a better and more wealthy home. The pressure of receiving good grades in school can be excessive, and the teen may cheat on assignments and tests. Most parents apply pressure upon the student in order to keep up with there school work and not allow the student to fall behind. The pressure received by the parents can exceed the teens ability in school and can result in falling behind. Debra Satz, a professor at Stanford University, states, "Students are seeing what the world is like, what the downside is of not succeeding." While looking into the future can be beneficial and motivating, a student who becomes overwhelmed with the thought of failure can worry too much and stress themselves out, causing the student do poorly in school. Therefore some teens have said they feel pressured by their parents to do good in school because there parents expect them to well and carry on a family tradition. Which may…

Being independent shows that you are able to do thing without help, succeed without the aid of others, and that you can control your own life. Every teenager loves the feeling of freedom and being able to do whatever they want. Now when it comes to responsibility not everyone can do it. So how much freedom and responsibility is right enough for teenagers to have in making their own decisions? Teenagers are suppose to have just the adequate freedom and responsibilities according to their age. Giving them too much will overwhelmed them or giving them little can cause for them to run over you. Not too much and not to little. The first thing to do is not to give teenagers too much freedom. Most of the time the consequences are that they will become rebel. That's when they will start running over you. That's when you decide to give them certain freedom depending on their age. Like when they are 16 let them go to the movies or out but until 10pm or 11pm. One their 17 or 18 let them be out more until midnight or 1a.m. Let them know they are responsible of their own actions of what they do or if they don't follow their curfew.Teens need to learn a lot on being responsible. They can start by paying for their own bills if they are working. For example if they want a cell phone then they can, but as long as they pay for it. For teens that are not working then they can help out with chores. Parents need to teach them responsibility in certain ways so once their older they won't be irresponsible in life. The more responsibilities a teen has the more it will help in his/her future and gain more freedom.Basically teenagers can have just the normal appropriate freedom for their age. When it comes to responsibility then they are allowed to have allot of it. That way they can know better. Plus the more responsible the more parents will be adding to their list of…

Teenagers generally grow up with one or both of their parents. They live their lives by having everything done for them. They’re used to their parents driving them around, making dinner, doing their laundry, etc. Teens nowadays are vastly different from those back in the 70’s. Teens in the 70’s were expected to do everything for themselves because their dad was always at work while their mom was at home cleaning the house. In this generation, teens have more freedom and are willing to sacrifice everything for the extremes in life.…

What Being a teenager is all about Introduction Hi. Today I’m here to talk about something we can all relate to. I’ll be talking about how to go from a naive teenager to a grown responsible adult that is really to take on life. From getting new responsibilities, to getting an education and finding something to do with our live that we will enjoy. But in order to end up as a happy adult we must first go through some pretty difficult things such as finding our first jobs and keeping up in school and our grades at the same time or to start being more mature. Body I. During this period of time in our lives we start becoming more independent. A. We are able to get things we weren’t able to get before such as:Driver’s permit or a job. 1. Things such as these are the things we can’t wait for when we are like in middle school, but growing up isn’t just about these particular things 2. With these “cool” new privileges there are many many responsibilities that come with them. B. These responsibilities show our parents if we are ready to get MORE privileges. 1. If you deal with them like a responsible person, then they’ll trust you more and give you more privileges. 2. Once you start acting right everybody will see you different and with more respect, and that’s when you’ll start being more mature. II. At the same time we must also do good in school and keep your grades up especially since we are in high school and everything counts now. A. In order to keep our grades up we have to pay attention in class and come to school to study and get an education and not play around with your friends. 1. It’s a part of being mature and responsible ,which brings us to the subject we went over before.…
