Examples Of Sex And Labour Trafficking Around The World
Sex and labour trafficking is an issue that affects the entire world, whether countries are the source of victims or their destination. Sex trafficking is more prominent in Africa or the Middle East, whereas labour trafficking is seen more widely in Asia. The source countries typically are poorer nations, for example, Albania, Thailand, or Romania. On the opposite end, destination countries are usually rich nations such as Germany, the United States, or Italy. This trend appears because the traffickers can gain a greater profit when selling in rich nations. Human trafficking is not only a modern issue. There are many examples of forced labour and/or prostitution seen in recent history. The most well-known example is the African Slave Trade.
