An example of personal encounter of a professionalism issue would be patient confidentiality. I have experienced many cases during my clinical rotations where many health care workers who were not directly involved with a specific patient would make comments about the patient that were not professional. I feel that keeping patient information strictly among those who are involved in their case is important. The only time it would be acceptable would be to receive knowledge from other professionals in the health care field on how to better care for the patient.
