Throughout the years, psychologists have been researching the relations between racism in America to better understand the prejudice whites mainly have on people of color (Is Racism on the Decline in America). Clearly, throughout time there has been “declines in expressions of prejudice, negative stereotyping, and resistance to equality by Whites” (Is Racism on the Decline in America?). While there is less direct discrimination occurring in society, indirect discrimination still occurs to date. Indirect discrimination refers to “discrimination by means of rules, regulations or procedures that may appear to be neutral, but which actually discriminate against certain groups of people”.
