In the epic poem “Beowulf” by Burton Rafiel the main character, Beowulf exemplifies the traits of a ‘perfect’ hero. Beowulf was loved and admired by his people, the Geats, for his bravery and heroism in all of his adventures and conquests. He can be characterized by three principal traits; his valor and fervor to defend others, his loyalty to his people and oaths that he pledges, and his humility and humbleness through everything.
