In the novel The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, “A hero isn’t measured by the size of their strength, but by the size of their heart.” Anyone can be a hero. People judge others from the outside not the inside. They judge them by their looks and in the end they don’t really know who that person is deep down inside.
First of all, Johnny is an outstanding example of a hero. Johnny has a bumpy road relationship with his parents. Johnny is beat by his father and ignored by his mother. Johnny actually feels something when he is being beat because it’s the only time he feels like his parents know that he is there.(ch.3&4) Johnny wanted to kill himself because of his parents.
