Having a friend there for you and watch over you and care for you is a great thing. Sometimes great things have to come to an end other times they don't is just depends. In John Steinbeck's book “Of Mice and Men” it shows how the friendship of many is created yet also sometimes destroyed. There are a lot of different kinds of friendships some more different than others. Being there for a friend is very important making sure that they're okay and that you're always going to have their back. George and Lennie are a perfect example of this, George was always there for Lennie no matter what the situation was.
