One conflict is the person vs. person and one example is when Charlie Snead killed the deer out of season. He was saying he hit “the calf”, baby deer are not called calves, they are called fawns. Charlie knows he is lying, he just doesn’t want to go to jail. The sheriff gives Clay Boy a ride to the church and puts Charlie Sneed in the back of the cop car. The cop arrests him and takes Charlie Sneed to jail.Another conflict is person vs person. When Clay Boy goes out to cut down a Christmas tree to place in his house. He spots a deer that is a doe and looks at it for a while. Then later on he spots a Buck. The Buck tries to charge at Clay Boy. Clay boy gets behind a tree to avoid getting hit by the Buck. He then gets a match
