Examples Of Cleverness In The Odyssey
Bravery, Loyalty, Perseverance and Cleverness. This are the qualities of the main character Odysseus, which make the movie more interesting and fun to watch. It is not all about the heroism of the main character but it is also all about to the love and willingness to wait at the right time.

Odysseus’ adventure for me is just “AMAZING”. It indeed a supernaturally wonderful. Imagine he was imprisoned for about 16 years in order to be home. His son has grown enough to be a fine man. His wife Penelope still wait for him to come back in the Ithaca. There’s a lot of challenges that being encountered by Odysseus, still he cope with those struggles that he face in his journey.

No matter how many obstacles Odysseus faced, he still lived. Not only because, he was helped by the Goddess of wisdom, Athena which is undeniably great. But more importantly, because he had the will to conquer them all, for the one reason: to go back home and be reunited with his family. Just like in our daily lives. We are being exposed to tons of pressure, but still, we always, managed to greet tomorrow with smile in our lips.

We human being can never survive the challenges that we faced without the guidance of our almighty God. We should keep in our mind that we are nothing without the guidance of God. We should also be thankful to the blessings that we receive. Just like what Odysseus did, he forgot to thank Poseidon for helping him in the battle of Trojan

Another characteristic that the movie did a good job bringing out of Odysseus' character was his ruthlessness in doing whatever he has to to get where he wanted to go. We find out that Everett never actually had a treasure to go find. He just told Pete and Delmar what they wanted to hear and whatever he needed to to get them to commit to escaping with him. He knew how to manipulate the two in a way that would inspire them to help him (because they think they are helping themselves). This is similar to Odysseus' and Athena's manipulation of Nausicaa.…

From the epic poem by Homer, The Odyssey, Odysseus lack heroism presented in his actions. His success is due to the fact, he is able to intelligently apply himself in dire situations. However the majority of feats are unnecessary, as he tends to indulge in these predicaments due to his selfishness and curiosity. For example, at the time of Lotus Eaters, Odysseus sets course to the Lotus Eaters to discover who are natives of the island. Although these predicaments were extremely challenging, Odysseus always found a way to survive. His survival depended on his mind and body combined. Without this important balance of thought and strength, it is obvious that Odysseus would not have made it home safely, or he may have not even made it home at all. In The Odyssey, Odysseus experiences many events that set him back from returning home. But throughout all of these experiences he never gives up. Perseverance is one of the many themes in the Odyssey. One example that shows perseverance is when his crew opened the bag of winds. Odysseus thought he was finally going to make it home but because of this magical bag of winds given to him by one of gods, then because of curiosity his crew opened it when he had said not to. This was yet another setback on his journey home, and he was angry but after this he did not just give up, and kept going to find a way back.…

To start, Odysseus was developed with standard Greek heroic traits. First, Odysseus was courageous in the face of opposition, as shown by his encounter with Charybdis and Scylla. The protagonist of The Odyssey commanded his crew to row onwards in the face of the monsters, showing his courage. He was also intelligent, as he devised a plan to escape the wrath of Polyphemus. Odysseus made the Cyclops drunk with his liquor before blinding him and allowing his crew to escape on the underside of the sheep of the island. Finally, the main hero of the story was perseverant, as illustrated when he left Ogygia, battled Poseidon’s storms, and made it to King Alcinous’s island.…

His intelligence and strength allow him to get out of difficult situations, but his one flaw that was bringing Odysseus down was his hubris. The whole time Odysseus was trying to get home, he had many opportunities to display these traits, for example giving Polyphemus the wine to put him asleep showed his intelligence because this was the best way to injure the giant while causing the least amount of death. When he hung from the fig tree and waited for his ship, or being trapped in Polyphemus’s cave are all obstacles that he had to overcome. Odysseus overcame these obstacles because he is a hero and heroes overcome problems that come their way. Odysseus is not a superhero however, he is just a normal person that overcomes mistakes and problems that he is faced with. Everyone knows about superheroes and heroes and that they share similar principles except anyone can be a hero, but no one can be a…
