The first example of him being a mockingbird was his disability. His crippled arm prevents him from doing things which make him weaker just like a small mocking bird is. Atticus said in the trail, “how”. The reason Atticus said that is because how could someone choke you with only one working hand. “His left arm was a full 12 inches shorter then his right”(248). This is just one point that proves that he did not rape Mayella. The second example of him being a mockingbird was his overall good character. He is simply a kind man with a wife and kids. The only thing he did wrong was step into Mayella’s house, and he said “I never stepped into her house without her approval”. Since Tom is such a nice man he offered his free time and labor. He
