Many people let their ambition overtake them. They become selfish, greedy, cold and obsessed with power. Some will do whatever it takes to get to the top, no matter what the situation might be. As the days went by Macbeths desire to be king grew stronger. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth plotted together so Macbeths desire will come true. Macbeth knows that Duncan must be killed if he wants to be king, and the thought of Duncan's murder is disturbing him. He asked his best friend Banquo for help but he refused, so Macbeth decided to kill him. Macbeth had remorse, but he knew what it took to get to where he needed to be in life. Macbeth’s ruthless ambition changes his great character, pushing him to his own death.
Lady Macbeth's is more ruthless than her spouse and her ruthlessness is what fueled Duncan's murder. First Lady Macbeth swayed Macbeth, to continue with the plans.
