A rite of passage that I remember was when I was taught how to drive. At the end of my ninth grade year, my mom took me in a church parking lot and that was my first practice I had driving. I was always a little nervous when it came to driving; however, I had to face my fears because I knew that I would start driving more often as I got older. I thought that I was not going to be a good driver, but the more I practiced the better I became. The day I got my license I was very excited, even though I did not have my own car. My mom started letting me drive more and more, and before I knew it I was driving places by myself. I would drive to my friend’s birthday parties and school.
