Abstract

This report deals with the survey of the organizational structure of startups and the evolution of organizational culture in startups.The importance of organizational culture in the long run is illustrated. A detailed survey and analysis of organizational cultures of 5 top emerging companies in the globe is given. Comparative analysis of cultures in startups is done. In the end, this paper closes, by playing up the significance and evolution of the culture in startups, and suggesting some imperative steps that should be pursued by every startup in order to insure a long, successful run in the mutant business environment.

INTRODUCTION
Startups are one of the most vital phases in the metamorphosis of business environment. They have marked their presence in the global business history as most of the present leading firms in the world are startups in their budding stages.Startups, characterized by enthusiastic, energetic programs and actions of young and budding entrepreneurs are different from established companies in terms of manpower as well as decision strategies.Some other significant difference found in recent days is the organizational culture.Managing the organizational culture and diversity is equally important as managing resources and work.The grandness of these two elements in a startup is comparatively less significant when compared to that of an established industry. Researches,project, a fact that 3 out of 4 startups are failures1. Failure of these startups may not be attributed completely on the ineffectiveness of planning and execution, market problems, unscalable ideas and incompetent business models but also for an inefficacious workforce management and organizational culture. Non incentivized workforce is one of the core reasons for failure of many startups which is an implication of this core problem2. This problem is further accentuated by comparing cultures of different firms in an Industry which are the leading startups. Their emphasis on this problem and the reviews of employees acting with the respective firms are integrated in order to make a clean image of the current phase of evolution of organizational culture in these firms and inferences and also some essential steps that must be adopted by a startup in order to confirm.

Organizational culture and its importance:
An Organization can be outlined as a consciously coordinated social unit, composed of two or more people, that functions on a relatively continuous basis to achieve a common goal or set of goals. It is the most significant factor which demarcates an organization from others. Culture can be differentiated into strong culture and week culture based on extent of similarity in the employees about the organizations mission and values. Culture augments the stability of an organization, catalyzes commitment of an employee towards the organization and binds all the employees together.
