Evaluating the Consultation and Education Department The Greenby Community Mental Health Center is facing a huge dilemma. The Consultation and Education Department is about to go under. To display the program’s effectiveness and efficiency developing process evaluation measures as well as outcome evaluation measures are necessary. Developing the scope and the purpose of the process and outcome evaluation measures are important on the influence of the design of evaluating the organization. There are issues and challenges that may arise from evaluating the Greenby Community Mental Health Center. Because of the directors situation an evaluation may be helpful to Greenby Community Mental Health Centers Consultation and Education Department.
The executive director of the Greenby Community Mental Health Center, Henry McDonald, has suggested that because of cuts in funding to the center that the Consultation and Education Department will be shut down. McDonald believes that distributing the work of the department would be better sharing it among each employee. McDonald also believes the resources can be put into other programs that can bring in profits. He does not believe that the Consultation and Education Department brings in the funds the organization needs. He also believes the department is not needed. Consultation and Education director Andy Cutler does not share the opinion of Henry McDonald. He argues that the department does bring in funds and supports other programs in the organization. Cutler does have valid points it has not been enough to sway the opinion of Henry McDonald. In a situation, such as this where the directors of the organization cannot agree on what should happen to the department it is necessary to do an evaluation to show the effectiveness and efficiency of the program.
