Evacuation plane 626

This was recovered from
The Bardsey Island
Evidence #398-72

The evidence of #398-72 was a journal from a boy named Charles Lewis Baker. Charles was at the time 6 years old, one of the youngest boys that lived on the island. He was from the town of London and was from the all boys academy with some of the other little ones that were on the island. Charles mother was a teacher and his father was a highly decorated air force general. Charles had two siblings of whom he was the youngest, the oldest was his brother Peter at 11 years old and the middle child was his sister Susan at 9 years old. Charles has brown hair, blue eyes, and is 1.04 meters tall. At his school,

Now, I wake up on this soft patch of grass, I do not see anybody the first thing that I did was call out for Peter since he was on the plane also. I searched and searched but it seemed like hours go by and I then spotted someone he was in my class. He looked as scared as I felt, so I wave my hands around frantically so he can see me. We stay with each other until we found another boy and then another boy, so now in total, we had a group of 4 boys all around 6 and 7 years old. There was chaos in the group none of us knew what to do or where to go, some ok all us were on the brink tears if not full on crying. Then suddenly arose “deep, harsh note boomed under the palms, spread through the intricacies of the forest, and echoed back from the pink granite of the mountain” (Golding 17). The whole group heard the odd noise coming from far away. We decided to go towards the noise hoping that it’s the adults and hoping that I can find Peter. We reach the edge of the tree line and emerge onto the beach, we see a voluminous amount of boys ages ranging from 6-12 years old. I run in front of our little group and try as hard as I can to find Peter. I’m running around yelling “Peter, Peter where are you!”, then I hear “Charles, Charlie are you here!”. We see each other and run to hug, now knowing some comfort and familiarity to this situation. Our attention was then being …show more content…
Jack the boy that disagrees with everything that Ralph wants to do has left the group. He left like a renegade and said that anyone that wants to join him can so most of the hunters went with him. Guess who else joined them, Peter that’s who! I thought that my brother would have some sense and want to go back home to father and mother. Also, maybe get Susan back and be a big happy family again. This is my one wish in life now to get rescued and to go home. So obviously I stayed with Ralph, but now this group has 5 bigguns and a handful of littleuns. I then saw Simon slip into the jungle going to do something to anger the beast probably. Then Jack stated that his group catch a pig and is having a feast and everyone is invited to it. So I go with some others to get food and also to see how Peter is doing. He is covered with paint and looked content and full. Then Ralph and Piggy come over and then a lot of tension but is broken with laughing at Piggy. Later, when it is dark something stirs in the jungle right next to the fire where everyone is. We all getup and are ready to attack, then it comes out and we attack. We are punching, biting, and ripping with the might of all our fear and anger with being stuck on this island. At one point, I get a glimpse of the face through the turbulent mess of boys. It’s Simon and I saw Peter punching him with all his might not even caring what

“We shall catch a pig and gather fruits and berries. Then we can invite Ralph and his little tribe. Them and their stupid rules and Piggy and his stupid Ass-mar! Why have rules if you can’t feed yourself?” he shouted. The chorus and the other boys shouted and clapped. He waited for them to settle down. “I will show you how to catch a pig!” he proclaimed, and the boys went wild. And it was from there that Jack’s newly founded tribe began to turn into savages. They painted their faces black red and white and screamed and shouted. As they searched for a pig, they went silent. Suddenly, as they cornered the pig, they started chanting. And as these chants got louder, they rang out through the entire island.”Kill the beast, cut his throat, spill his blood!” They chanted. “Kill the beast! cut his throat! Spill his blood!’ The sound rose into the sky and vibrated through the…

At the start he is looked up to by the other boys due to his leadership-oriented qualities of being sensible and confident. However, with the deaths of Piggy and Simon comes Ralph’s overwhelming loss of self-control. The loss of Piggy essentially represents the loss of civilization and this is what causes Ralph to gradually lose his focus of trying to escape the island and changes that determination into feelings of anger as he begins to become more aggressive. His personality begins to change, which is described in the scene where he overhears the hunters talking about capturing him: “[Ralph] felt the point of his spear with his thumb and grinned without amusement. Whoever tried that would be stuck, squealing like a pig” (237). This shows how he begins to find comfort in violent behaviour and this also describes his conversion from civilization to savagery. He lets his emotions start to take control and lets out his inner beast, quickly resorting to aggressive confrontation in a difficult situation: “Ralph launched himself like a cat, stabbed, gnarling, with the spear, and the savage doubled up” (240). This describes how he begins to become more animalistic, being brutally violent when his life is threatened, and is even compared to a cat. This shows the corruption of his personality and behaviour without the external forces to help him contain…

Crashing onto the island, the kids have immaculate, clean faces due to the fact that they attend a Catholic school which, incidentally, enforces a school uniform code. As time progresses, some of the kids, particularly the choir boys, dirty their faces because of their hunting adventures. As seen on page 69, "Jack, his face smeared with clays, reached the top first and hailed Ralph excitedly, with lifted spear." After dirtying their faces, the choir boys proceed to paint them. Page 74 mentions, "I painted my face—I stole up." In the beginning the face painting is only…

Ralph changes emotionally when he and the boys mistaken Simon as the beast and becomes involved in his death. When Ralph realizes what had happened, he feels guilty and blames himself for Simon’s death, but Piggy was there by his side and insists they had nothing to do with it. Ralph also changes emotionally when Piggy dies. “Ralph wept for the end of innocence, the darkness of man’s heart, and the fall through the air of the true, wise friend called Piggy” (Golding 225). Here, Ralph goes back to the memories he and Piggy have made on the island and wishes that he was still alive. All of the boys are…

I don’t remember much about how my family died, I was just a three year old boy; Keenan Waren. All I can remember is it was Thanksgiving day with my whole family. I know it was this day because the smell of the turkey was burnt into my memory, and it’s also what the people at the orphanage told me as I was growing up. Something else I can recall is seeing a tall, bulky shadow holding a green flame in his hand after the lights shut off. Everyone was screaming, but I am still unsure of what was happening to them. My mom carried me out into the rainy night in front of the house in my carseat, and I was crying for the teddy bear my aunt gave me for my first birthday. I kept crying, so my mom covered me with blanket and ran back inside to grab it…

All the boys deserted Ralph, Piggy, and Simon and chose Jack’s tribe. While the two tribes are separated at the opposite sides of the island they still run into each other with conflicts in hand. Jack’s tribe did not have fire so they snuck up on Ralph's tribe and attacked them while sleeping. They stole Piggy’s glasses and left them with nothing against the spine-chilling night, “We’ve had a fight with the others” (167). Another issue was with the group of hunters that made their first kill when hunting while in charge of keeping the fire going. All the hunters that stayed back decided to leave the fire and to go kill the pig. With no one there to keep the fire going, it extinguished. Meanwhile, on the beach Ralph is looking out to sea and spies a thin line of smoke move across the sea, everyone jumped for joy, but then realized there was no smoke signal to catch the ship's attention. Returning from the forest, the hunters yelling out excitedly, “Kill the pig. Cut her throat. Spill her blood” (69). Ralph realizes that he can not do everything and feels the heat of being…

The conch bestows a strange power on Ralph: it is with this that he calls the all the boys together from where they were, scattered and lost all over the big island. By blowing into it, Ralph produced a blaring, strident noise, booming across the jungle. When everyone is gathered, Ralph immediately has the other boys in awe and interested by the conch. He has their uninterrupted attention as they make plans to figure out the situation that they have, literally, “landed” into. The boys ignore Jack’s arrogant confidence and unanimously turn towards Ralph as their leader, for “there was a stillness about Ralph as he sat that marked him out: there was his size, and attractive appearance; and must obscurely, yet most powerfully, there was the conch (22).” The conch, again, gives Ralph a mysterious power; this “gleaming white tusk” has the gift of bestowing power upon the person holding it.…

The sky was nice and clear. It wasn’t too hot or too cold. It was perfect. It was a typical third grade day. My friends and I were in recess, goofing around, having fun. We sat on the benches and joked around. Next thing I knew my friend was on my back and I was carrying him around. Not aware of my surroundings, I tripped over a bench, closed my eyes, braced for impact, and fell face first into the dirt. I got up feeling dazed and the first thing I hear is a scream. Confused, I looked over to my friend and her face was a mixture of scared and shocked. I saw friends run to the restroom to get me paper towels, but others told me to go to the office. As I walked to the office, I began to feel pain in my lip. I walked into the office speechless.…

At this point I didn’t think we would have been rescued, as I agree with Ralphs thoughts. “If only they could get a message to us” (Golding 94). I know Ralph was very ominous about me and didn’t like me much because I was on Jacks side; but I still shared the same thoughts as him. I felt like the people who were supposed to be looking for us, must have given up cause they thought we were musty now. Everyone lost their mind, a couple boys died because they went of the deep end. Others ended up killing each other or starving to death because they couldn’t stand anybody. As for me, I just planned to keep going until I had had enough of those…

My story begins at just the age of 8, we just had moved to a South Texas town, Kountze, this town had about 2,000 to 3,000 people residing in it. My parents had decided this was the perfect place to raise me and my brother who is two years older than me. I didn’t understand much then, but from what I can remember the only problems I had was what flavor of ice cream I wanted when my father took me to the ice cream shop and which Disney channel show was on. But then, as I thought things were just fine, On one summer night I heard noises in my parents’ bedroom and I overheard my favorite hero crying in the bedroom and saying he needed to tell us something terrible had happened. As he sat me down on his lap and told me that grandfather had passed away. My grandfather had been diagnosed with lung cancer shortly after he came from India to America too visit us. My father had to take him back to India when they found out he diagnosed. I sat there not understanding what had happened and hearing my hero in tears for the first time. It was one of first of many forms of tragedy I have had to witness as I thought nothing could shake my father but at this moment I realized I was wrong and got scared, this moment had changed my whole…
