As the title suggests, the first recipe I'll be sharing is chocolate banana loaf cake with cream cheese glaze. My group and I were given the opportunity to name our creation ourselves, but with our limited capacity of imagination and creativity in our brain, we ended calling it what the loaf literally represents, chocolate banana loaf cake with cream cheese glaze. Do not be fooled by the overly simple name, we actually put in a lot of effort coming up with the name but ended up abandoning all of them because the names were either too awkward or stupid :(…

The song “Simple Man” by Hank Williams Jr is the perfect example of how my grandpa lived his life. My grandpa was a simple kind of man he did not own expensive cars or big houses. He wanted things to be as simple as possible just so he had more time and money for his family. He would say that troubles will come but they will pass quickly, he was very right about that. When I was around 15 and looking for my first job he told me to find something that I loved and understood, if I didn’t I would not enjoy my job much.…

Mom and I day have our own house now, we have great family and friends, she has a good job and I graduated from high school with good grades. It’s funny because when she told me that we were going to be alright I didn’t believe in her, but she was right. After all the struggles, the tears, the fights, and the confusion, we’re alright. I learned that all sacrifices paid off, and that you can do anything you want if you’re determinate and have the inner strength to pick yourself up every time you fall. Coming here to Miami was hard, but I’m very grateful that we did…
