Etymological Meaning Of Compassion In A Community

Compassion: etymologically meaning ‘to suffer together.’ Being compassionate is putting yourself in other’s shoes and understanding one’s point of view. Compassion can be shown in numerous different ways, whether it be holding the door open, to donating to those in need. One simple compliment could remove the dark clouds in one’s day, bringing back the optimism and happiness from the sun. Being in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IBMYP) has taught me the importance of caring in our community. Through the IB character traits, I have learnt how to become an Inquirer, Open-Minded, Principled and Caring learner. I have demonstrated the act of kindness through my community project, where I will teach others about self-love and advocate to promote kindness in our community.
