One of the most difficult trials I face in my life are ethical and moral dilemmas. An ethical dilemma is more consistent with my everyday life than a moral dilemma. Ethical dilemma is defined as situations in which there is a choice to be made between two options, neither of which resolves the situation in an ethically acceptable fashion. Every day I am faced with decisions of right and wrong most of which are easily and correctly dealt with. Sometimes decisions need to be made that are not easy or clear, however they require thought and often prayer.…

However, too many organizations fail to identify the potential threats from information unintentionally leaked, freely available over the Internet, and not normally identifiable from standard log file analysis. Most critically, an attacker can passively gather this information without ever coming into direct contact with the organizations servers – thus being essentially undetectable. Very little information has been publicly discussed about arguably one of the least understood, and most significant stages of penetration testing – the process of Passive Information Gathering. This technical paper and information gathering plan reviews the processes and techniques related to the discovery of leaked information. It also includes details on both the significance of the leaked information, and steps organizations should take to halt or limit their exposure to this threat.…

Before reading the Code of Ethics of the Education Profession in Florida, I wasn’t quite aware exactly why the State Board of Education needed these written codes. The Code of Ethics states that teachers must not violate the Code of Ethics and that they may be subject to revocation or suspension to their educators certificate or other penalties as provided by law. The Code of Ethics is basically broken down into three major parts, which involve an obligation to the student, an obligation to the public and lastly an obligation to the profession of education. This seems to be some serious stuff to not mess with, and as one of my professor likes to say these obligation are written to make the “big dogs” in education satisfied. Although I do believe there is a purpose for these areas. I also think that the Code of Ethics deals with how a teacher should simply carry themselves in their own teaching enviroment including their duty and knowing commitment that they signed up for. “By virtue of their leadership capacity, teachers are traditionally held to a high moral standard in the community”, this shows high importance of teachers knowledge and understanding of the way you should act and the morals they should bring along with them. Since the late 1960’s Florida teachers has always served under a Code of Ethics for Educators, which was quite similar to the Code of Ethics now by the National Education Association. That Code of Ethics wasn’t enforced until 1982 when the State Board then revised the code recommended by the Education Standards Commission. Now the most current Code of Ethics of the Education Profession in Florida stated that any Florida educator who violated any of the principles is subject to straight penalty. In the whole scheme of things this does bring up the topic of whether teachers can truly have their own private life aside from school life. Issues regarding the Code of Ethics can appear through many classrooms lesson plans and activities…

According to the Internal Review Board (IRB) ethical guidelines, the researcher must adhere to the principal investigator's (PI) responsibilities. IRB guidelines require the PI to obtain written informed consent from all participants. That is to ensure that all target participants are advised of the potential risks, benefits, and alternatives of the study, as well as their rights. It also demonstrates the ethical principles of reverence for persons, beneficence, and fairness before each study participant can proceed to the survey and interviews. IRB also requires site (location of participants sample collection) authorization must be approved as per IRB requirements. The proposed researcher must plan and share, either…

Bryan, a new employee of the X Chemical company has been placed in charge to oversee the production and construction of their newly released product, industrial lubricant. The X Chemical company was built nearby a river and asked permission from the government agencies to release their excess waste into the river. Other companies also reside along the river and are dumping their excess waste into it as well. This strikes as a concern to Bryan, adding an additional step to their production process would have allowed the X Chemical company to reduce their waste and recycle some materials. Because X Chemical Company was granted a permit, which stated they are allowed to dump excess waste materials into the river, that additional step was omitted. The new product is a success, the production for the new industrial lubricant is below the cost of competitors, has increased the companies confidence after several quarters of average production, and because of the success of this new product employees are anticipating sizable bonuses from the company’s profit sharing plan. Though the new product is doing well, Bryan is still upset that the company did not add that additional step to reduce pollution into the river and he feels that the company is only focusing on short run satisfaction. Bryan addresses his concerns to Bill Gates, the Plant Supervisor. Bill Gates responds by telling Bryan that the waste being dumped in the river poses no threat, according to the government agency, that the company does not need any unwanted attention from environmental groups, and even threatens Bryan’s employment. At this point, Bryan is unsure of what to do, but knows that something needs to be done.…

“It’s invisible to us, but there is a crime wave going on, unprecedented in human history”. This is the opening line to “Counterfeit Culture,” a documentary about how counterfeit items enter the market, the kinds of goods normally purchased, and how it not only affects the global economy, but our own personal lives as well. In the last twenty years, counterfeit goods have exploded. This is because the way consumers do business has changed. Globalization has become a major influence on all markets and goods can now easily flow from one country to another, real and counterfeit.…
