Ethical Conflict In Social Work

A situation where I had an ethical conflict with a client is when there was a client who wanted to have an abortion. I was completing a house visit with an assigned social worker and I had to conduct the meeting. The client felt that she did not want a baby due to her age. I do not believe in abortion unless it is caught early on due to a form of sexual assault. However, I could not enforce my beliefs on the client. I had to rightfully inform the client of her options and what the decision could entail. When I explained the options to the client I did so because it was her choice to make. I assisted her and wanted to do so unbiasedly because I wanted the client to make the decision that would long-termly benefit her in the best possible way. I weighed the options of how if I did shared my beliefs with her it could have made her feel ashamed, angry, etc. That was not my place to create this type of atmosphere. However, it was not shared with me at the time he could meet me at the location and I could just supervise him until the interview came to a close. The workers in the office also informed me that he liked when he met with me but I did not take it personally, I thought of it in a professional manner as if he like how I helped assist him. In the car the client kept staring at me while I tried to ask him about his progress, while it made me uncomfortable, I did not want to say anything. Then at the interview he kept staring and said he was trying to look into my eyes, I continued to disregard my uncomfortableness. It was when I was taking him back to his home he tried to prolong the car ride then informed me that he liked my smile and wanted to spend more time with me. I addressed the situation here by informing him he was being inappropriate and explained to him our roles in our professional relationship, however, I felt that I should have done so early to prevent this occurrence.
