Etched in Our Minds (Rspc Memories)
Smooth breeze from the clear window came in and the cold air of silence surrounded the room.

Hundreds of memories refreshed my mind as I remember the flashbacks and echoes from my time of yore. My past RSPC years were not quite in high spirits. I did not win any contest in Journalism; a sad smile was always drawn on my face every now and then. It was not easy to recover after all the downs, disappointments, dissatisfaction, and setbacks. But this year’s Regional Schools Press Conference brought me into the new world where all dreams came true and fairytales did exist. New friends came into my life and new-fangled memories were made to bring smiles in everyone’s face. Bayugan City is what they call it. This is where the 2012 RSPC was held. Strong competitors battle in for the honour of their division and school. Vigorous cheers and yells rocked in the gymnasium to let everyone know that they have what it takes to be a regional winner and national qualifier.

Spanking faces welcomed me into the new chapter of my life as a journalist. Another task to complete and another competition to win. But after all those academic mind activities, still a bunch of crazy friends surround and make me happy as each precious day passes. Typically, journalists from schools are nervous for what topic will be given, who will be their proctors and the question that cannot be beat is "Will I Win?"

Well, everything happens for a reason. Sometimes you have to exert immeasurable efforts to win up a battle but besides the contest. I expect the reminiscences of fun with my co-contestants of my school and the division. I admit that I don't really know everyone of my division but I do know that everyone of us wanted to meet each other.

Wait! I know you are waiting for the love story chapter of this story, right? Well, that part is always present. This I call “Mr.JE” was with me. A lot of never seen before scenes happened those nights. And remember Mr. _ _ _ _? My greatest

„Nostalgia is deeply implicated in our sense of who we are, what we are about, and (though possibly with much less inner clarity) whither we go. In short, nostalgia is a readily accessible psychological lens…for never ending work of constructing, maintaining and reconstructing our identities.“ (Davis, 1979, in Belk, 1988, p.150)…

It’s in our sick and dying bed that we are sadly given no other task but to evaluate all our years of living. The body no longer full of vigor nor fight, the heart heavy form sorrows past; the footsteps of death nocking at the door serve as an earnest call to evaluate and make peace with all we did in life. Suddenly, its time to review the many chronicles that compose our life story. As I look back on my life I am overwhelmed with grief. I grieve not for missed opportunities, God knows I seized every opportune moment. I grieve for the misjudgment of my ambitious endeavors, which will be forever erroneously highlighted and remain an eternal blemish upon my legacy.…

It was the September 1st when the magical day happened. I had been working for john for about three months. Mrs. Elizabeth (Johns wife) had become sick some weeks ago and hasn’t been able to get over it. I had decided to do some reading while Mrs. Elizabeth was sleeping. I had only read ten pages before John came behind me. He bent down breathing into my ear and scared me out of my chair. I closed my eyes waiting to hit the floor but just before I had I felt someone catch me. I looked up to see who it was that had caught me and to my surprise it was john! He was smiling at me with lust filling his gaze. As soon as I saw that I could help but start to blush. I quickly said thanks you, mixed with the blush it caused him to let out a jolly laugh. As he was bringing me to my feet he whispered into my ear that he liked me a lot. After hearing this I became braver. I asked him if there was anything I could do for him for saving me from falling. He looked at me and told me that he was sure I could do something for him and that I was to meet him in the barn after everyone goes to bed.…

We changed everything we could in two months and went to World Finals with a more serious and competitive mindset than ever before. We were driven by the feeling that we had fallen short at State Finals, which ultimately allowed us to place sixth in the entire world. We faced teams from countries all over the world; ironically, the team we were most concerned about was the one from our own home town, who was not as successful at World Finals. Although coming in behind a rival team may not seem like failure to some, it provided me with a very real life lesson; I learned that when you are beaten, you have two options: give up or push yourself…

The year is 1943. Situated in my little corner, I lie in wait, wondering if I will ever be cherished again. Times of long ago come to my mind, when every day, Michelle would come and sit at her little desk and type away. Such blissful times they were, when she would stride through that creaky, rustic door with a grin so cheerful, that it would light the whole room. Pulling back the chair, she would sit down and write optimistic tales. She would compose stories of princes and princesses and happily ever afters. Stories of daddies coming home from the war and being reunited with their families.…
