In the play Romeo & Juliet, Friar Laurence is the one to blame for Romeo & Juliet’s death. Friar Laurence should have waited til they were both there to tell them about the plan. If this were to happen, then Romeo would have waited until Juliet to awaken instead of killing himself out of misery. And if Romeo never killed himself then Juliet wouldn’t have stabbed herself with his dagger. In act 4, scene 1, line 89-94, it says,”Friar Laurence. Hold, then. Go home, be merry, give consent to marry Paris. Wednesday is tomorrow. Tomorrow night look that thou lie alone: let not the nurse lie with thee in thy chamber. Take thou this vial, being then in bed, and this distilled liquor drink thou off..”. This shows that Friar Laurence decided to act on his plan with Juliet without informing Romeo. Which caused Romeo to poison himself and Juliet to dagger herself. Another reason why Friar Laurence is to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s death is he wrote Romeo a letter instead of telling him his actions in person. Which causes Romeo to kill himself. In act 5, scene 2, line 25-29, Friar Laurence says,” She will beshrew me much that Romeo hath had no notice of these accidents; But I will write again to Mantua, and keep her at my cell till Romeo come- Poor living …show more content…

Come, come with me, and we will make short work; For, by your leaves, you shall not stay alone till Holy Church incorporate two in one.” This shows that Friar Laurence was to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s death.
