Essay On Transition To Adulthood
Throughout everyone’s life there will be a moment when someone experiences their transition to adulthood. My transition to adulthood was when I got a job as an Usher at Tinseltown USA. As an usher, I tear tickets and direct every customer to the correct theatre. In addition to tearing tickets, I clean each theater after a show gets out. Having a job has allowed me to learn many life lessons that have taught me the meaning of adulthood.
When I received my job I had to make sure I would be prepared for upcoming challenges, be on time for each shift, and obtain the skills to get the job done right. In my case, learning how to get my job done correctly was a simple task for me. Being an usher can be both stressful and laid back. During certain times of the year the movie theater can get really busy, especially since Tinseltown USA in Rochester is one of the top Cinemark theaters in the United States. When there are many people coming into the theater all at once each employee needs to monitor what is being brought into the theater from outside. Having to monitor everyone can be stressful because everyone’s safety is in our hands. On the other hand, being an usher can be very laid back in many ways. …show more content…
When I was younger I would just go with the flow of things and not really have to worry if I was going to be late or not. Being late comes along with consequences such as being suspended or losing certain privileges. Since being on time is such a top priority for me, I have learned how to create an efficient schedule and manage my time wisely.
To reiterate, getting a job has been a huge life lesson for me. It has taught me new challenges that I will have to face every day for the rest of my life. Also, it has allowed me to experience the feeling of being independent. Receiving my job has been a wonderful adventure for me and has made me ready for many more upcoming life
