What made the holocaust the worst case of genocide in the world? The holocaust began when Adolf Hitler came into power and believed that anyone different did not belong in Germany. While there are other cases of genocide with more kills than the holocaust, the holocaust was the worst case of genocide in the world because the methods they used to kill the people was unethical, they killed them based on race, looks, and sexuality; around 11 million innocent people were killed. In the early 1930’s Hitler came into power and started changing Germany based on his beliefs. They lived on the streets begging for bits of bread from others who had nothing to share. Since there was not much food children would sneak out through narrow openings in the fence and steal food for them and their families. Ghettos were gated areas in a small part of a town housing over 160,000 Jews, many had to share a house with 2 or 3 families. Living in the ghettos there was often no plumbing or running water which caused them to be very unsanitary and that meant that diseases spread quickly, and they spread even quicker because people weakened from hunger and exposure to the cold. During winter months people would freeze to death because they lacked adequate clothing. Ghettos were the start of the worst case of genocide ever. So even though there are other cases of genocide, the holocaust was the worst because of their unethical ways of killing and their motives behind killing the people, and around 11 million people were killed. The Nazis killed them using many different machines and methods like gassing and shooting them, the Nazis killed them because they were different or believed in different things this resulted in many deaths. Because of the things they did and the excessive ways of killing, the holocaust was the worst case of genocide ever, we should stop this from ever happening
