Just go through, you never know where you’ll end up or who you’ll meet. These simple words are what I carried with myself through the sorority recruitment process here at Lindenwood University. A process that is only just three nights long and will forever change one’s life. Sorority life is not for everyone, but recruitment week is a sole source of deeper friendship, character builder, and finding your home among your peers. A sorority, no matter which sorority, is founded and based on the bond of a sisterhood. A sisterhood is a deeper connection to those girls around you than best friends. To find a sisterhood you must first expand your friend group to be able to reach a connection with the girls. During the process, you must talk and attempt to make connections with multiple different organizations and the girls who make up the organization. This develops a deeper connection with people that normally you may not have talked to before this week. Delta Zeta, in particular, is partnered with Starkey Hearing Foundation and the Painted Turtle Camp both of which give you a chance to travel for a truly life changing experiences. These experiences with giving back to your community and sometimes the world are things you will carry with you for the rest of your life.
