So, if we cut sports from schools we might be able to get the U.S up in those categories to where the education level would be insane. This would make sense because the U.S has one of the lowest levels of education in the world. In my opinion, if we do get rid of sports then kids will be able to focus more on school and their grades will be improved because they won't be focusing on who they play next game or if their team will win.So if we get rid of sports the U.S might be able to score higher in the educational

Athletes who play any type of sport have less time to do homework, accordingly they are better at time management. They maintain an average GPA of a 2.0 or they can't play sports, unless they boost their grades back up. One researcher says, "High quality organized sports helps students earn better grades"("Youth Sports"). This quote states athletes involved in extra academics are able to earn better grades. According to “The Value of Sports,” athletes are able to set better long time goals and strive for them, vs non-athletes, (2). Athletes who play sports are more focused in school, they are more motivated, and they learn skills that may improve their life in the future. There is a rule called No Pass No Play, which means if you don’t pass a class in school, you can’t play a sport (No Pass, no play law affects many students throughout Texas) (1). This rule is effective in states like Texas. Americans should be for students without passing grades being able to play sports, because students in clubs are not affected, and the youth of America needs the teachings and values that sports are able to bring. There are some questions that are something like, won’t kids grades suffer with less time to do homework? And the answer to that recently asked question is no, no they won't. As we have said before There is a study that has shown that kids do better with grades when they play more sports! Probably because you have to keep your grades up to be able to play that sport and that is incentive enough. If there were more sports in our school then more kids will do better with grades, they don’t even have to be good. They just have to have fun playing the game, and that is why we should increase sports at our school. “School should be about learning, not sports”. Kids now a days love to play sports, but don’t like to learn. Learning, and get an education this is a very important thing in life you need it to have a good job so that you can have a family and support them. So I feel in school you must have good grades in order to play any type of sport, and if you do not then you should not be playing. A couple reasons I feel like this is for starters kids pay more attention to sports then they do in class. This is not how this should be. Kids should love to learn something new every day at school, but in some school that’s not the case. Kids need to learn.…

Schools across the U.S. have banned sports to increase their budgets and have succeeded. In Ripley’s article “Yes, It’s Time to Scale Back”a school district cut off all sports and saved about 150,000 dollars a year giving the district extra money for much needed supplies(10). “To cut the cost of school the district moved the middle school to the high school building” they renovated the area to suit their needs for a better establishment for students(9-10). Therefore all states of the U.S should stop sports programs to save money because of the fact that schools need the extra money. It is now apparent that schools should shut down sports to increase the amount of money for all districts.…

Some may argue that sports play an important role in teaching life lessons to athletes. Yes, you can learn valuable things through sports, but you can take on even better traits through school and teamwork activities in the classroom without the problems that athletics comes with, like injuries and pressure. School comes before athletics and some athletes think athletics are more important than school, so eliminating sports will help these students learn valuable life lessons through school and activities in the classroom with other students.…

Nearly 65% of children say they participate in sports to be with their friends (Statistic Brain). Sports were established so that the individual could not only exercise, but also to compete against a rival. Just as there are individual sports, there are team sports in high school. The idea of a team sport is that every single person on the field or court must work in unison to have the greatest opportunity to win. In addition to the increasing popularity of sports, the average child’s age when they join a team is decreasing. For example, the age that a child joins a basketball team has shifted from fourth grade to first grade or even kindergarten in the past decade. School is the primary factor when you review the participation in athletics,…

Activities and sports in schools is a great way for students to be involved, and to be active. I have done research and there hasn’t been one article I found on why sports shouldn’t be in schools. Having athletic programs and activities in schools are very helpful for students health, it develops team work, helps develop discipline and also perfection. School administrators, and parents, generally support high school activity programs because of the positive effect these activities appear to have on students of both genders. (Braddock P.1)…

Hi. I am Charles Tuigamala, a fateful reader of the Joeys Newspaper. On the 30th of April 2013 I read a question put out to the readers, it read, “Should we ban the Sports and Physical Activities in schools?” I think, as a former teacher, that this is a very valid statement and should be carried out. The sports in schools distract and brainwash the students so much that they do not properly focus in school. The sporting activities also create adrenalin rushes which can in some cases be harmful to the body. This and also the fact that some teachers tend to force students in over exercising which gives them cramps and aches are reasons why, I think, it should be done.…
