Essay On Renaissance Humanism
Renaissance humanism philosophy arose once medieval supernaturalism began to diminish, leaving room for secular and human interests to rise in popularity. The ideologies of one's experience in the here and now became more appealing than living in fear of a omnificent power, reliance upon faith and God weakened. The pillars of humanism are relatable and comforting opposed to the fear instilling rules of other philosophies of the time. Humanism would rather man focus on oneself rather than god or the afterlife, man is only answerable to man. Mans intellectual life and the decisions he makes should be based on reason, not faith, renaissance humanism honed the scientific language when they decide to focus in on these ideologies. Another side of the foundation of humanism is the appreciation of art and the beauty of nature. The added benefit of a surplus of food for allows people have free time for the first to create art and see the beauty that is in the world around them. Lastly Humanist wants man to spend the majority of their time developing oneself, to be truly happy in the eye of humanism is to be self-content contributing member of society. …show more content…
Both systems of beliefs highly value the importance of art and the beauty of nature. During this time of humanism, the world is learning how to live with a surplus of food, free time was new and a little bit freighting (Davis). Today nature falls to the curb, with the majority of the world harming our environment rather than appreciating it. Alongside the devaluing of the earth, art hold even less weight in today’s society. A world of humanism ideologies would spend its resources building new technologies that can forward the development of man but not hurt the beauty of nature like most of the technologies in today’s world. A humanism world would see artist in a different light, instead of throwing art to the wayside it would be a major support to everyday
