Definition:
Pediculosis is defined as an infestation of lice, which blood-feeding ectoparasitic insects, and may occur on any area of the body of warm-blooded animals. Pediculosis most commonly refers to lice infestation of the head, or pediculosis capitis, however there are other variations of pediculosis, which are:
Pediculosis corporis-pediculosis vestimenti, Vagabond’s disease
Pediculosis pubis-infestation of lice in pubic hair (AKA-crabs)
