Essay On Make America Great Again
The United States of America, one of the greatest countries in the world, is an extremely diverse melting pot of different cultures, races, and ethnicities that all come together as one. It is a place filled with adventures waiting to happen and where people come from all over the world to live the ideal “American Dream”. They want to do better in life, just like our ancestors did when they came across the Atlantic on the Mayflower. Now think of how it is in “today's’ America”. Is America still a melting pot? Yes. On the contrary, Immigration is a hot topic in the media today. President Donald J. Trump took office earlier this year and has been in the process of trying to “Make America Great Again”. The executive orders that have recently made headlines are controversial and everywhere you go someone has something to say about it. At the end of the day, immigration has positive and negative concerns, but it is what we have built the foundation of our country on.
Immigration is important and problematic due to the recent executive orders that President Trump has released. It affects everyone in the country, whether they travel out of the country or not. Citizens and other people against this could possibly think that Trump is targeting certain countries related to terrorist groups and local cultures that are “most likely to do something bad”. He most likely feels that this is the best move for the U.S and that something in the areas with the proposed ban is worth doing so. Typically, a president wouldn’t spend time and money to keep people out of this wonderful country. Both separate executive orders are the issue at hand in the headlines, but it is what we plan to do next that will help this

Second, President Trump excuses much of the legality of his executive order by saying that it’s a national security; though it is a fear tactic that he has used throughout his presidency, a few Google searches will confirm that there is not a national security risk. After the attacks on September 11, there were many freedoms restricted for a period while the nation worked on increasing national security and diminishing risks. The terrorist attacks instilled fear towards the entire Muslim community and much of the middle east (Kennedy); however, the nations listed on Trump’s immigration ban are not even the same nations that the terrorists behind the September 11 attacks. After the executive order was signed, a news agency from Iran wrote that…

    Vetting System

Many people opposed Trump’s travel ban stating that none of the countries on the list proposed a threat to our national security. In many ways they are right. Trump claims that the countries on the list were responsible for 9/11. The original order also stated that green card holders and people with valid visas to work in the United States could not travel between our country and theirs until a more effective and efficient vetting system was put in place. In many ways, Trump is right. Our vetting system does take an extraordinarily long time and many immigrants find themselves waiting decades before their citizenship is granted. A more efficient system would prompt a quicker and easier entry to our country. However, constitutionally, you are not allowed to discriminate against any human regardless of religion, race or ethnicity. We can corroborate with the court cases like Korematsu’s that the detention or removal of a group of people from an entire country should never be allowed and that regardless of the war we are fighting. Citizens from those countries, unless under federal watch, should not have their rights infringed upon them due to scapegoating. Many great people from around the world come to work in the United States due to it’s endless opportunity and also many times because of the rights granted to each individual. A personal example is with my father. As a director at Google, he spends his time with people of every race, religion, sex for the majority of his day. Trump’s travel ban would prevent many people like the men and women my father works with from continuing to support their families, and would also prevent them from trying to build a life for themselves. In times of war, in many ways the President should take executive action to ensure the safety of our…

I love the way you explained how people celebrated 4th of July in America. It definitely gave us a sense of patriotism and national pride. America have gone a long way. Traditionally, it's to celebrate Independence Day with American flags, red-white-blue, and that whole game. Nowadays, from my perspective, there are some patriotic people. However, for me while growing up, it's more BBQ, pool parties, fireworks, and most importantly red-white-blue & American flags. That's still somewhat patriotic and bring people together as you said, communal celebration. Those celebrations only happen in few times annually and truly united as together and helps us remember that America definitely have gone a long way.…

Trump thinks these ridiculous things are what’s right for our country, but it goes against everything that our country stands for. He wants to keep people out who are contributing to our country’s growth, while Hillary on the other hand wanted to do the opposite. She wanted to introduce a plan that gives immigrants coming into the United states a a easy and quick pathway to citizenship. According to her website, she has states that, “As president, she will work to fix our broken immigration system and stay true to our fundamental American values: that we are a nation of immigrants, and we treat those who come to our country with dignity and respect—and that we embrace immigrants, not denigrate them.” (Clinton 3) She was so determined to do this, that she vowed to make it happen within her first 100 days in office. Clinton has stated many times whether it was on her website, in an interview, or on live tv that she does NOT want to tear families apart. What she wanted was to bring in millions of hardworking people to strengthen our…

With Bernie sanders campaign coming to an abrupt end for the democratically pyrrhic victory of Hilary Clinton, our nation faces a torrid commencement of a future of financial gridlock, consistently confounded abilities of negligence to we the people, and a final drop of the hatchet and permanent dismemberment of what used to be the American dream as they continue to feed further in the lie that the lower class deserves to be there, the middle class is getting poorer and the rich getting richer and therefore those who refute their oversimplified version of “the truth” must be lazy, poor, incompetent, or just plain out stupid. Essentially, what made America great, is dead. In this upcoming election we have two options. A vindictive con-man, seeking vengeance from a civilization that never did him wrong. He was born into wealth, and as a result he shall live out his days in wealth, never being able to comprehend the…

In my opinion America is the greatest country on earth. One of the best things about America is our freedom. Our freedom is something to truly be proud of! In many other countries you have to filter what you say, but not in great ole America you are legally able to say whatever you want. In some Asian countries young children and lower class adults have to work in factories for very low pay, just because there is no other options. In America this is not the case, here we could work where ever we desire, with the right education of course. Religion, religion is a big one. In many counties what, or whom you worship is controlled by the government.…

Gaetz explains in "The Pros and Cons of the President's Immigrant Travel Ban", “I wish so much that President Trump’s Executive order were unnecessary. I wish that we lived in a world that was more stable and secure, where America could welcome with open arms anyone from anywhere for whatever reason at whatever cost. But the reality is that American taxpayers can’t pay for everything, and American families cannot shoulder the risks of insecurity for the consequences of terrible foreign policy decisions that have been made over the last eight years” (14). Gaetz believes that much of the frenzy surrounding the travel ban is being created by the media and is convoluting the actual purpose of the travel ban. The travel ban is not exclusively about banning all Muslims, but to take a closer look at immigrants who are coming from countries that breed terror, discontent and anti-Americanism. The United States need to do a better job of screening those immigrants to keep our citizens safe from…

US President Donald Trump has recently issued a ban on people traveling to the US from seven, mostly Muslim, countries: Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. This ban will last for 90 days. Refugees in general have been banned for 120 days, but refugees from Syria have also been banned for an indefinite amount of time, too. This travel ban has already been the center of worldwide controversy, leading to protests in the US, and world leaders to bash the executive order. The travel ban will be detrimental in the long term for the US because it will not target the biggest source of terrorism, will only lead to the US looking much worse in the future, and will hurt American industries.…
