Essay On Gun Laws
How many more senseless deaths by guns do we need in the world? I disagree with the laws that allow private individuals to own a gun. It is way too easy for private individuals and especially criminals to get guns. I believe that only law enforcers such as police, fireman, F.B.I agents, and the military should be permitted to have guns. It is the job of law enforcers to protect and serve our communities and as such, they need guns in order to do their jobs. They are loyal and trustworthy people who save millions of lives everyday and should have weapons to defend themselves. If we continue to allow private individuals to have the right to own guns we will have even more senseless deaths and crime rates will increase.
There are many reasons why the general public should not have the right to own guns. One reason that private individuals should not be permitted to own guns is because many people use guns to commit crimes and to harm or kill others. These killings result in tragic deaths that could be avoided if there was better gun control and not such easy access to guns. Another reason for preventing private individuals from owning guns is that people use guns for self-defense and can accidentally hurt or kill an innocent bystander. In America, more than 32,000 people per year are killed by guns. Clearly, if we limit the right to gun ownership, then we could greatly reduce this number. Under the current laws, it is too easy for someone to obtain a gun. Surely, if we were to make our gun laws stricter it would result in fewer criminals who get guns. As a result, the need to own guns for self-defense would be eliminated and the number by deaths by guns would decline. For all of these reasons, gun laws should be changed and private individuals should not have the right to own
