Six of the Enlightenment thinkers created the Bill of Rights. The second amendment states,”...the right of the people to keep and bear arms...” saying we should be able to carry guns. William Blackstone wrote about this amendment and he also stated he wanted, “A well regulated Militia.” If the government starts to do what they aren’t supposed to and go against what they said I can protect myself with my weapon. In grievance number fourteen it states,”For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us.” The troops surrounding us were armed, housed and that would keep us protected. Social Contract can be viewed here because we have the right to go against the government if they do things they know they aren’t supposed to. The sixteenth explains that we were unaware that we were being taxed, and we had cut off trade with the entire world. It impacted them then by not being being able to get certain goods from around the world anymore that we needed for exchange of our goods. Social Contract is being portrayed here because they government doesn’t want them trading with anyone around the world but they have the ability to overthrow that. Grievance number 21 says,” He has abdicated government here, by declaring us out of his protection and waging war against us.” This simplfied is him failing our government and us getting shut out from protection and waging war on the U.S. This is Social Contract because it is giving us a reason to go after the government because they failed and now the U.S. is out of
