Essay On Baseball Day
I remember that day like if it was yesterday. I had school that day. I knew i had a baseball game that day. I was excited the whole day because baseball has been in my life since i was 3 years old. I always try to keep make my day happy when i know i have a game that way i know don’t have to worry about anything during my game that can distract me. That day was a really hot day, but it was a good thing we always play at night. We always have to get to the game one hour before the game starts so we can go to the batting cages, stretch, and warm our arms up. When we first got to the fields i was really excited that i didn’t wait for my mom to get out of the car i just got my stuff and walked to the batting cages. Once we were done with the batting cages we walked up the the field as a team and watched the end of the game that was going on before we had to play. I was horseplaying with my friends like i always do and like always we got in trouble by our coach and we had to stop and put our head in the game.

The game before our game had just ended and we got our stuff and walked onto the outfield while the other team cleared the dugout. While we waited we started our stretches as a team so we could look good and not a mess we got into lines and we did everything together. Once we were done with our stretches we got all of our

We saw him turn around and we made his way to the dugout. When he got there he said to go and take the field he started to say where we had to go while everyone was getting ready to take the field. He called my name and said to go to third base which is my favorite position. We finished that inning pretty fast. They took the field and there starting pitcher was really throwing anything good or fast. The coach called out the lineup and he called me forth like

I attended every all-star practice before our first game and was hungry with anticipation. The all-star tournament was single elimination, so if we lost even a single game it would all be over. I had some really good friends on the team although I was probably one of the least skilled players. We practiced nearly every day the two weeks before our first game. My excitement was steadily increasing with every practice.…

Baseball was invented in the late 1840’s. “Popularity was spread during the Civil War and baseball was played in Union Camps all over America” (Stewart 4). Baseball first gained popularity all over America, in about 1880 when people learned the full game and started playing it for the first time. Baseball has changed greatly over time in many positive ways because of changes in rules, popularity, and strategies.…

After we warmed up it was time to play the final game. We were the home team so we were in the field first. I was playing center field and it was so hot outside that I felt like I was going to melt. When the umpire yelled, ”Play Ball!” I jumped up on my feet and was ready for the first pitch. On the very first pitch the batter hit the ball straight to me. I watched the ball go up in the air and I was putting my glove up in the air ready to catch the ball but then I lost track of it. My sunglasses did not help me with the sun. I was trying to find the ball, but then SMACK! The ball hit me straight in the mouth and I fell to the ground like a sack of…

As the baseball diamond started to fade in and out of my blurry vision, I realized something was wrong when I was still sitting on the bench. I was on varsity baseball, ( that’s what I thought I was gonna spend the rest of my life doing) my grade point average was rising, and I was surrounded by positive people all around me who gave off a positive vibe. Of course all good things must to an end right? Well my good times came to end quickly.…

Baseball was all I cared about at the time. After sitting on the bench all fall I realized how blessed I was to be able to do what I love. Until then I took for granted all of the little things in life. Being on crutches for 11 weeks made me appreciate the ability to be able to simply walk, let alone play a sport. This experience was the most humbling thing I had ever been through. I feel like it brought me closer to God, thanking him for every moment I get to spend on a baseball field. To this day when I step on the field I thank the Lord for letting me play. This incident also showed me how fast He could take baseball away from me, or anything from me. From those few weeks forward I do my best not to take for granted what the Lord has given me, making the most if every opportunity I…

I recall the towering posts which seemed to oversee the game, showering the ballpark with light. Describing the physical setting, the field was split in half in order to differentiate the two opposing teams, cars were parked distantly in order to prevent a broken windshield, and portable folding chairs trailed along the fresh-cut grass. There were people of all ages, adults chit-chatting, teens socializing with their “peers”, and the unmistakable cries of smaller children clashing with yelps of excitement were heard coming from the crowd. The ambiance, or mood, of the park could generally be described as relaxed. I overheard a group of people, specifically an older man and woman (dyad), discussing their usual tiring day at work and how they decided to spend their Monday night cheering on their local team as an escape from their monotonous workday. As for the pace, it progressed rather smoothly. Each inning grasped more and more attention from the crowd as the score was very close throughout the entire game.…
