Essay On America's Gift To My Generation
America’s Gift to my generation

Without our military the United States of America would be defenceless against threats to our country. Our past and present servicemen and women have gone to battle to fight for our freedom, protect our lives and make sure that we have a bright future. They have worked hard to guard our borders and airspace. Without them we would live in constant fear of fighting for survival and the things that we now have, today.

There have been many wars. From the Revolutionary War to the latest war on terrorism. Our service men and women serve in other countries to provide protection for us. A favorite quote of mine is by John Thune. It reads “I believe our flag

As Joe Barton once said, “Our flag honors those who have fought to protect it, and is a reminder of the sacrifice of our nation’s founders heros.” Our flag is not to be knelt upon, but to stand as one together, remembering how Veterans risked their lives everyday to go to war and give us freedom today. The least we can do is to thank you. You gave me a future, freedom of speech, and an education, and so many more things.…

What is America’s gift to my generation? This is a good question with many possible answers. One might say that America gave their generation freedom of speech. While another might say that America gave their generation freedom of religion. These are both good answers, but I say that America has given my generation so much more than just freedom of speech or religion, and many agree with me.America has given my generation the right to vote regardless of race or gender, the right to have our own personal belongings, the right to protest against something that we believe is wrong. America has given my generation the freedom to own weapons to defend ourselves and the freedom to go wherever we want and be whoever we want. America has given my generation…

I love the way you explained how people celebrated 4th of July in America. It definitely gave us a sense of patriotism and national pride. America have gone a long way. Traditionally, it's to celebrate Independence Day with American flags, red-white-blue, and that whole game. Nowadays, from my perspective, there are some patriotic people. However, for me while growing up, it's more BBQ, pool parties, fireworks, and most importantly red-white-blue & American flags. That's still somewhat patriotic and bring people together as you said, communal celebration. Those celebrations only happen in few times annually and truly united as together and helps us remember that America definitely have gone a long way.…

As Marva Collins once said, “Success doesn’t come to you, you got to go get it.” This is completely true. However, how can this be true if the American Youth nowadays expect everything without looking for it? I believe that for someone to become successful, it starts within himself or herself. If the America’s youth do not believe in themselves, they are going to have the wrong mentality for their future. Even more, if their family is unsupportive, how can they learn any responsibility? America’s youth rely on drugs and gangs to find a “way out” of all their problems. They are misguided so they do not realize that they got themselves into a more serious situation.…

With Bernie sanders campaign coming to an abrupt end for the democratically pyrrhic victory of Hilary Clinton, our nation faces a torrid commencement of a future of financial gridlock, consistently confounded abilities of negligence to we the people, and a final drop of the hatchet and permanent dismemberment of what used to be the American dream as they continue to feed further in the lie that the lower class deserves to be there, the middle class is getting poorer and the rich getting richer and therefore those who refute their oversimplified version of “the truth” must be lazy, poor, incompetent, or just plain out stupid. Essentially, what made America great, is dead. In this upcoming election we have two options. A vindictive con-man, seeking vengeance from a civilization that never did him wrong. He was born into wealth, and as a result he shall live out his days in wealth, never being able to comprehend the…

What it means to be an American, most people would tell you it means freedom to pursue and do what you want. In my opinion freedom and the “dream” don't come easy it takes more than hard work and dedication to earn a dime in this country. To be an American it means, responsibility to serve and do everything in your power to be a part of your society. To be an American it means you will obtain rights, for example, the 2nd amendment states you have the right to bare arms. To be an American it means you have freedom, to own whatever you desire if you work hard enough for it.…

he youths are the right doctors for ailing agriculture here in Trinidad and Tobago. Most of our youth seem to turn a blind eye to what is seen as just hard work in the sun. It’s not their faults of course, for many years our parents tell us ‘I don’t want you to go through what I went through!’ and that was toiling in the fields to send their children to schools to become doctors and lawyers. Agriculture was our home then, but it was a hard place to live in. From that time to now, in the eyes of society anything seemed better, even the janitor in a fish market had a ‘better job’ than the farmer. But that’s the problem though, till now farmers are seen as sitting at the bottom of society. And if you cannot have anyone’s respect, nobody wants to be you. They were deprived of the respect society owes them and this keeps our youth away.…
