Essay On American Imperialism

The United States became an imperialist nation during the late 1800’s and the early 1900’s and it was for several reasons. Imperialism had a major impact on the world; it was mainly the economic, military, and cultural influence that America had on other countries. American Imperialism had the idea that the United States was different or better than all the other countries. There was also a drastic change with the American Business caused by the imperialist nation. There were several countries such as China, Hawaii, Japan, and the Philippines which were the most affected during the imperialism in America.

One reason is that we don’t try to control other countries policies. The world is in a more free world. People have a right to more things and do not have to follow a certain system. We also don’t see countries trying to overpower other countries, cities, and islands. I do not think it exists as, “Americans are running foreign governments, and it’s a distinction without a difference” (USA today). These are the reasons why I don’t think ideology of American Imperialism still exists in the 21st century.
As you can see there were several reasons of how and why the United States became an imperialist nation and of how it impacted American business. The United States had become imperialism in several ways and that ended up boosting the business market in a good way. Also, it had helped them protect themselves overseas.
