•Study questions: 1.Compute the NPV of Ariel-Mexico in pesos. How should this NPV be translated into Euros? Assume expected future inflation for France is 3% pa. 2.Compute the NPV in Euros by translating the project’s future peso cash flows into Euros at expected future spot exchange rates. Note that Ariel’s Euro hurdle rate for a project of this type was 8%. Again, assume that annual inflation rates are expected to be 7% in Mexico and 3% in France. 3.Compare the two sets of calculations and the corresponding NPVs. How and why do they differ? Which approach should Arnaud Martin use? 4.Suppose Mexican inflation is projected at3% (assume French inflation remains at 3%). How does this affect the NPV calculations? 5.Suppose Ariel expects a significant real depreciation of the peso against the Euro. How should Martin incorporate such an expectation into his NPV analysis? What is its effect of the concluded NPV under each of the approaches in questions 1 and 2? 6.Should Grouppe Ariel approve the equipment purchase?…
The main reason I returned to school is to be able to be the first in my immediate family to graduate from college. My mother raised my two sisters and me as a single parent with very limited resources. I barely ever saw her due to that fact that she had to work at two different jobs. She wasn’t the most affectionate mother but showed her love through actions rather than words. Very seldom did we have deep conversations but one conversation that stands out in my mind is when she said to me “Fernando, I am sorry I can’t provide the same things your friends have. I didn’t even have the opportunity to continue my education. I only went to school up to 6th grade because my mother forced me to work or I would have to leave the house. I want you to have a better future. That is why I brought you all to the…
We hear people tell us about how some significant event or person in their lives came along and changed everything. We also hear of some fantastic revelation someday up on the mountain, or a close encounter with nature, even a brush with some insane disaster, bringing the person onto the doorstep of death. Most people quote extraordinary event that is very unique to them and hear about how that something have come to have a great impact on their lives, changing the very manner in which they view life and perceive it. My story might not be anything spectacular, but for me it has been the one most singularly amazing event of my life.…
Our experiences and the way we react to them shape who we become. Dwelling on a particular event will not help us succeed in life; whether the event be positive or negative. “Turn your mind from the ship, child. It is nothing but a rotting carcass in the grass. The carcass has shocked you with its stink and its flies. But you have walked past it, already, and now you must keep walking” (122). There are events in our lives that will shock us and leave us unsure of what to do, or whether we should keep moving on. These thoughts should not hold us back, as the answer is always to keep moving on; the hardest parts do not last.…
I have experienced many things in my life. All of my life experiences have affected me in different ways. Some experiences were good and some were not. The physical abuse I experienced by my father was the most impactful experience. A parent is supposed to create a safe, stable, and loving home. Instead my father created a home of fear, instability, and inconsistency. This affected my behavior in school, and how I react to things later in life.…
My three life events are, my godmother passed away, I've broken my wrists, and I started working with my dad. These experiences are good and bad. When my godmother passed away , that was a sad day to remember. Also the day that I broken my wrists, It was painful but good. And working with my dad was a really good experience. In life experience can be good and bad but there is always a way to get in one and to get out of one.…

Major life events can be positive and negative and can be unpleasant, frightening, confusing and unsafe at times. As a child, my parents told me I was very talkative, outgoing and easily made friends. Although I am still all these, my personality and the way I look at the world is very different to the way the bubbly child I used to be did. There are events in life that change you as a person, for the good and the bad. These experiences however, are key in shaping who we are and can also be seen as challenges and how we deal with them, whether being able to handle it or not, show what kind of person we are. In my life, I have experienced many ups and downs. They may not be as extreme like family members passing or problems at home but for me they were my challenges in life and have made me who I am today. There is no specific event that instantly molds who you are and determines what kind of person you will be because life keeps on going, you get new and different challenges every single day. Some may not seem significant like learning something new in school but in the end, it makes up who you are.…
Generation’s ago, many parents did not believe that education is a priority, since it didn’t generate any income, just detoured their children to make money. My father was offered a scholarship, to play soccer at Pen State University in United States, my father had to decline this offer since, his father didn’t share an appreciation for education after high school, so my dad became a construction worker like his father was. For decades’ parents believed that, going to school was nusencnce such as in the case above, why waste time in school in your prime years of work eligible, when you can make money instead of wasting on education, so many young adults dropped out and obtained jobs in the manual labor sector. In contrast, schooling in the 21st century, is task that is finically straining and is very discouraging for many individuals, parents provide both antidotes to their problems. Stated in Individuals and Families “They must weigh... different lifestyles from their parents, against the companionship and the financial and emotional support they receive from them.” Families in the 21st century, understand the importance of education, because some of these parents never got the opportunity to succeed and aspire to achieve their dreams. The…
