The U.S. is a nation of immigrants. But unauthorized immigrants grow by the millions and have become a source of political debate over issues such as deportations, and benefits. Despite the harsh treatment, some may experience in the U.S. there are benefits that illegal immigrants risk to get here in the U.S. Being a born U.S citizen, I've come to realize the differences among our system of government compared to those of other countries. Better job, education and housing opportunities are the main reasons for illegal immigration. In the next few paragraphs, I will be explaining why these reasons cause illegal immigration.

In Mexico, the stats show that in a particular area in Mexico, out of 134,704 potential teachers, only 0.2 percent of them qualified to be able to teach a quality education. In many other places around the world, the education system is not created to help the people with promising careers. In fields like Medicine, Law, and business the institutions aren't as technologically advanced as American institutions so coming to America gives an option to living a successful life for not only the student alone but also their families.

Illegal immigrants come to America for better housing opportunities. Housing In Mexico can be described as deficient or inadequate, because not only are the homes built poorly here, they are quite small sometimes having only one bedroom. Coming to America illegally means there's a slight opportunity to work for a bigger and better house. Aside from working and buying a home with cash, illegal immigrants can get an ITIN mortgage in order to work on paying off the house.

Better job, education and housing opportunities drive immigrants to come to the U.S illegally. Even though some Americans are against the idea of immigrants having an 'American' life, organizations such as the DREAM act are put in place to allow immigrants an education and a place to stay either temporarily or permanently. Illegal immigrants are still human like the rest of us, they too deserve to have an adequate experience

Many of the people who immigrate to America from Mexico do so because they are impoverished and in search of better work that will bring them a better standard of living. The problem is that these poor people typically have little to no formal education or job training. This means that they more often than not end up working as unskilled laborers. A common practice is for these people to become migrant farm workers that move from farm to farm in the American West picking different things for farm owners depending on the season. The life of the migrant farm worker is not an easy one. Many farm owners have been known to take advantage of the lack of education and organization of these poor people to get them into bad situations where contracts require them to work grueling hours for meager wages and to lose a lot of that small bit that they did receive back as living expenses. The workers found that the only way to earn fair treatment was to organize into labor unions. Because of the hard work and dedication of heroes of the organized labor movement like Cesar Chavez, migrant farm workers all over have been able to improve their lots in life.…

The United States of America, what we call the land of the brave and freedom does not belong to anyone but to Native Americans who were here before anyone else colonize it. Immigration began in the 1850s by European immigrants and, now in the 20th century we see it with Latin Americans and Mexicans. These groups have some common things, both of them want a better future, education, and lifestyle as Nancy Foner makes a great point on her article “Who They Are and Why They Come” about a strong reason why they come to the U.S. “It has always been too simple to see immigration to this country as a quest for liberty and freedom. Nor is the move inevitably an escape from hunger and want, as the occupational backgrounds of many of today’s newcomers…

Immigrants leave their home countries either because of a push or a pull factor. A push factor is a force in an immigrant’s home country that makes them want to leave. It is a situation in their country that they no longer want to be around. A pull factor is a driving force an immigrant faces that makes them want to come to the United States. There might be an idea or an opportunity they see available in this country that makes them want to come here. The idea of the great melting pot is what defines us as a nation. Ever since our country came into existence our borders have been open to anyone who wishes to enter this country legally. For those who have entered legally, many have found that dream to become a reality for them,…

Those that legally enter America do so because we are a land of opportunity. They are able to apply their skills and talents to better themselves. In the meantime, they are part of the population that finds better ways of doing things (technological advances). Technological advances increase everyone’s standard of living. Those that come here illegally are hired by firms because of the cheapness of their labor this is the reason illegal immigration needs to be dealt with. But, in the end, money talks so the political question on illegal immigration will not be decided in the near future. There is a lot of disagreement over this. Many people contend that illegal immigration overwhelms government programs costing the country more in services than their labor provides. Both President Barack Obama and Fox News resident Michael Barone have points and idea on immigration reform and what should be done about it.…
