Guests are blessings from Allah. Islam teaches us to be generous towards guests and advises us on how to entertain them. Muslims should be kind and show gratitude on receiving guests. It is part of a good Muslim’s faith that he is welcoming and kind in treating his guests. One should be particularly hospitable to a person who is travelling and has no relative or friend in the country/city. When a guest arrives at the home, they should be served with food and drink. Whatever provision is available, it should be served to the guests without any haste or being anxious whether it will suffice them or not. Allah blesses the provisions and the provision becomes sufficient enough for everyone. The guests should be made comfortable and at ease in every way possible.
The teachings of our beloved Prophet (PBUH) guide us towards respecting and being generous towards the guests. In this respect, Rasulullah (SAW) said: “Indeed whoever believes that Allah is All-Generous, Who provides for His creation and rewards those who are hospitable towards their guests, should look after his guest.” [Sahih Al-Bukhari]
The Prophet (SAW) said: “A man visited a brother in another town. Allah (swt) sent an angel to lie in wait for him along his way. When he came upon the angel, he asked him: ‘Where are you going?’ He answered: ‘I am going to visit a brother of mine in this town?’ The angel asked further: ‘Is there any favour that you want to get from him?’ The man said: ‘No, it is only that I love him for Allah’s (swt) sake.’ The angel then said: ‘I am a messenger of Allah to you (to tell you) that Allah (swt) loves you, as you love your brother for His sake.” (Muslim)
The aforesaid hadith makes it clear that visiting somebody for Allah’s (swt) sake alone and not for some personal reason is what Allah (swt) wants from us and He loves those who perform this act.
Allah, the Exalted, says:
“Has the story reached you, of the honored guests [three angels; Jibril (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)? When they came in to him and said: `Salam (peace be upon you),’ He answered: `Salam (peace be upon you),’ and said: `You are a people unknown to me.’ Then he turned to his household, and brought out a roasted calf [as the property of Ibrahim (Abraham) was mainly cows]. And placed it before them, (saying): `Will you not eat?”’ (51: 24-27)
The ayat reveals that the first thought that occurred to Abraham when angels came to visit him was to offer food to the strangers, thus the strangers became guests and an intimate bond was forged.
Surely, Allah will increase our provision if we welcome our guests and give them food and drink, and will reward us on the Resurrection Day.

After watching a few commercials from this year’s Super Bowl Football game, the one that caught my eye the most was the 2012 Chevy Silverado Apocalypse. It was humorous, creative, and got the point across to the audience. Compared to the other commercials of this year’s Super Bowl those were the qualities that stuck out more so. The commercial effective with the way it played out and was well set up.…

A great example of a guest host relationship where both the guest and the host behave properly is the relationship between Telemachos and King Menelaos. As a guest Telemachos treats his host with respect and dignity. He addresses Menelaos as "my lord" to give reverence to his kindness and to be polite. Telemachos is very complimentary to his host by saying "Zeus must have such a place.(The Odyssey 44)" when referring to Menelaos ' house. He does this to let him know that he will be a good guest and that he is a proper gentleman. Menelaos shows that he to can be a good host and gives Telemachos food and shelter even when there is a wedding going on. He says "go and take out their horses, and bring the men in to share our feast"(The Odyssey 44). This shows that Menelaos must be a good host especially to give them shelter during a wedding. Due to kindness of both men good things are bound to ensue. For Telemachos the good outcome he receives is the accurate news of his father 's whereabouts. For Menelaos the good outcome is that whenever he may need help Telemachos is always there for him. Another example in which there is a good host…

In the Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, there are three main sinners. They are Hester Prynne, Arthur Dimmesdale, and Roger Chillingworth. These three people all commit terrible sins including revenge, adultery, and murder. Of these sinners, Roger Chillingworth is the guiltiest of them all, and this is because he never felt remorse for the terrible things he did throughout the novel. Chillingworth sins were aimed to bring pain and suffering to others where as Hester's and Dimmesdale's sin was a sin of passion, and was never meant to hurt anyone.…

When a person is sent to prison almost every single one of them, male or female, all look forward to the date their sentence is terminated and are told they are okay to be released back into society. As many people would think the process of going to prison would have little to no effect on a person, it’s actually the complete opposite. As stated more than 95% of persons who go to prison are released from prison. What’s not well known is the problems these individuals will face which include, but are not limited to, work/financial troubles, family support, and finally leaving what got you in trouble in the first place behind. The term is “barriers to successful reentry” but should be called, “barriers to maybe reentry.” It is not a guarantee that most individuals who are released from prison will remain that way. In fact the sad truth is most people end up going back multiple times. All of this is due to the barriers/struggles fresh released inmates face that force them back to what got them there in the first place. It is important to recognize and acknowledge this from a criminal justice aspect because like us prisoners are human beings, only difference is they are someone who made a mistake and was caught. Mistakes are a human trait you must remember. Due to that fact alone we should not set aside someone based on their past, but rather look to successfully reenter them so they can be an asset to society instead of a liability. Don’t get that mixed up with all prisoners. If they aren’t being released back into society there is probably a good reason why.…
