Appearance in My Military Uniform
Wear and appearance of army uniform is critical in the military today for the shear fact that were are downsizing and the military is looking for every excuse to get rid of someone. Wear and appearance means to me is that you should be in the right uniform at times when instructed or permitted, is should be clean and serviceable and be to military standards. The reason i am writing tho essay y is i simply got lazy towards the exercise in Graf and i decided that packing my gear and others things where more important then my appearance in my military uniform. i decided not to shave and therefore that action i was confronted by another NCO, who then asked me if i had shaven this morningrning, knowing i was in the wrong i decided not to lie that would make the situation words then it really was. From there that NCO let my NCO know the situation and that is why I'm writing this essay today. with that out the way my choice not to shave was more so and unprofessional decision that i had made when i did not backwards plan which is a good tact to practice because it helps you learn ways to fix and issue before it happens and your left looking stupid. So that morning when i woke i decided to get changed first , then proceeded to latrine to relieve myself, then proceeded to brush my teeth, i glanced at my face and simply thought in my head " Aw no is hanna say shit there to busy thinking about getting home". then i walked out of the latrine without a second thought to it. Its always the times when i think aww its cool I'm fine thats when the worst happens or something goes wrong. wear and tear and appearance of army uniform simply consist of you must be shaven at all time s when on duty or conducting a military function you are solider 24-7 you are supposed to have a serviceable uniform at all time when being worn you are to have a hair cut in according to regulation . though some people do not follow this regulation it does not make it right for me not to. i joined

    I am writing this essay because I disrespected a non commissioned officer. I do apologize for what I did and have said. I have learned from my mistake and I see why I am to do this essay and that is to show that disrespecting a non commissioned officer will not be tolerated and two give clear understanding of the impact that disrespecting a Non Commissioned officer has on others. It could also cause the soldier not to have a chance to exceed or grow as a soldier or a leader such as go to schools, warrior leader’s course, or even the promotion board.     The US Army 670-1 is the basis for the wear and appearance of all military uniforms to include ACU , BDU, DCU, ASU, and all PT uniforms. It was formed so that all soldiers wear the uniform the same to instill discipline and a professional appearance. This regulation applies to officers and enlisted the same. It was formed to give the exact dimensions for badges tabs patches and rank. The proponent of this regulation is the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1. The proponent has the authority to approve exceptions or waivers to this regulation that are consistent with controlling law and regulations. The proponent may delegate this approval authority, in writing, to a division chief within the proponent agency or its direct reporting unit or field operating agency, in the grade of colonel or the civilian equivalent. Activities may request a waiver to this regulation to this regulation by providing justification that includes a full analysis of the expected benefits and must include formal review by the activity’s senior legal officer. All waiver requests will be endorsed by the commander or senior leader of the requesting activity and forwarded through their higher headquarters to the policy proponent. Refer to AR 25-30 for specific guidance. As stated there in the beginning of the 670-1 there is only a few people that actually have the power to change or alter the uniform. So the big things looked for in uniform discrepancies is lopsided rank or badges, gaps in the badges to the army patch. And all ribbons are in order. We have these rules to keep the public view and the universal view of our army as professional and not a group of missfits. This profession has been recognized for that image and therefore comes with high expectations to maintain this professional appearance the military has built. You may not know it but each and every one of us are an ambassador for the United States military. As a whole we are judged not only on our performances but on how we carry ourselfs. In the military there is no tolerance for personal expression. As a whole we are one and the uniform is simply an act of discipline itself. It is something as small as personal appearance in which builds the pride and discipline of our military troops.It is vital to remain well groomed at all times. Cleanliness is a just a part of a soldiers appearance. Personal appearance also reflects on the standards the army expects out of their soldiers. For example, weight must be under control and in order to perform duties you need to remain physically fit. It is our responsibility as soldiers to be aware and knowledgeable of these standards. Maintaining this appearance is an act of values put forth by the army. You wouldn't think so but by staying true to your profession is an act of loyalty. It is how you represent the army and yourself in which shows your respect to both. By you consistently maintaining a acceptable image also displays the pride you have for yourself and the military. It is about taking the time out of your day in order to show the dedication and readiness to work. It is personal appearance which displays your first impression of the day as you arrive. If you look unhealthy or un-groomed accordingly it may look as if he/she is unable or unwilling to perform the duties he is assigned to.
