Esperanza’s rising
This book is about a girl named esperanza and her journey from being a wealthy person living in mexico. To then moving to california and being a migrant worker. this book shows the struggle of what happens to her during this journey. Esperanza was living in el Rancho de las Rosas. When the day before her 13th birthday her papa was killed.

She and her mother had to escape paps stepbrothers tio luis and tio marco eventually leading to their house being burnt down and them heading on a train to a migrant worker camp in california with Miguel alfonso and hortensia when they cross america's border it was very hard but they got through.

They arrived and mama got to work boxing grapes while esperanza with isabel took care of

Home is family, friends, smells, food, familiar faces, the place you love. Something that most latinos don't have when they come to america. Esperansa knows that mango street isn't the home she wants. Longing for home is sometimes the biggest stuggle of being an immigrant. Something that esperanza has dealt with her entire life.
