Erwin Schrödinger: A Humorous Man
One question that people often ask is physics? Physics is the branch of science concerned with the nature and properties of matter and energy. The subject matter of physics, distinguished from that of chemistry and biology, includes mechanics, heat, light and other radiation, sound, electricity, magnetism, and the structure of atoms. Or in a more simple definition physics is science that focuses more on matter, energy, motion, and force(Erwin Schrödinger Facts). Throughout history there has been many people who have paved a road in physics for us today. As an adult Erwin Schrodinger fell in love and married Annemarie Bertel and together they had one daughter whose name is Ruth Georgie Erica. During the years of 1906 to 1910 Schrodinger was a student at the University of Vienna, where he looked up to Fritz Hasenöhrl. He received an advanced degrees and habilitation (level after Ph.D. degree) from several prestigious university programs and assisted some of the foremost scientists in his field.(Erwin Schrödinger Facts) Schrödinger was indeed a strange man but through all of his hard work he received the title as the father of quantum physics. (Erwin Schrödinger Facts)Quantum hypothesis is the hypothetical premise of modern physics that explains the nature and behavior of matter and energy on the atomic and subatomic level. The nature and conduct of matter and energy at that level is sometimes referred to as quantum physics and quantum mechanics .In order to for Schrödinger to become the father of quantum physics he must first make a name for himself and he did that indeed. In 1935 Schrodinger made a legacy for himself by creating the “Schrodinger’s cat”.     Enrico Fermi started school at the age of six, showing promising talents with his academics, especially excelling in mathematics. By age ten he left elementary school puzzling out how the equation x2 + y2 = r2 represented a circle [1]. He continued to excel in his education preparing for entrance into college, ultimately winning a scholarship and gaining entrance into the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa in 1918. By 1922, after just four years of school, he earned his doctoral degree in physics from the University of Pisa [2]. After receiving his degree, he studied under Max Born in Germany at the University of Göttingen in 1923, and also under Paul Ehrenfest in the Netherlands at the State University of Leiden in 1924 [1]. This was made possible by receiving fellowships from the Italian Ministry of Public Instruction and Rockefeller Foundation. He returned to Italy to work as a lecturer of Mathematical Physics and Mechanics at the University of Florence from 1924 to 1926. “In 1926, Fermi discovered the statistical laws, now known as Fermi Statistics, governing the particles subject to Pauli 's exclusion principle, also known as, fermions” [1]. From there, Fermi became a Professor of Theoretical and Experimental Physics at the University of Rome in 1927 [4]. While in Rome, he evolved the ß-decay theory in 1934 - a statistical physics theory, to include the neutrino presumed to be massless and chargeless.     It is your grandfather, Otto Robert Frisch. I am an Austrian-British physicist, born on October 1, 1904, in Vienna, Austria, to your great-grandparents, Justinian and Auguste Frisch. My mother was a great musician, and my father a painter. I got my passion for science from my aunt, Lise Meitner; I’ll talk more about her later. I was schooled privately, as my family had high expectations for me. In the year 1926, I graduated from the University of Vienna with a Ph.D. in physics. She also discovered uranium fission with her friend Otto Hahn who was a German chemist. I really enjoyed my three years in Berlin. I made a lot of interesting research, met a lot of new associates, and even met my childhood hero, Albert Einstein, who was a personal friend of my aunt. In the year 1933, Hitler came to power and racial laws were passed, forbidding Jews to engage in certain activities. I, being a Jew, was forced to move elsewhere. I then met Niels Bohr, a Danish physicist who had to be the most profound thinker of all the physicists I had ever met, at a conference in Copenhagen. In 1934, Bohr invited me back to Copenhagen with the compliment, "you must come to Copenhagen to work with us. We like people who can actually perform thought experiments."
