Task B – Your work role
Bi) Describe the terms and conditions of your employment as set out in your contract of employment or employment arrangement. The terms and conditions of my own contract of employment, and the terms that my manager and I agreed on are written on my contract. These terms and conditions include that I must be honest in all areas of my work, follow the dress code, obey rules and get along with others. In my contract it states that I must be honest, and this includes being honest about any activity that has happened and any information I get told by another parent, carer or colleague. I must also follow the dress code and this is so that I look smart and all the staff looks the same and make a good representation of the company. I must obey the rules and regulations at work and this is so staff at the work placement can see that I am reliable and trustworthy. Bii) Describe the information which needs to be shown on your pay slip/statement. The information on my pay slip includes the name of the company that has employed me, my full name, my employee number, the amount I earn, tax code, description, hours worked. It also includes my national insurance number, week/month/date and my total gross pay. My pay slip would also include any deductions I may have for various reasons such as tax or sickness. Biii) Identify TWO changes to personal information which you must report to your employer. Two personal changes that I would have to inform my employer about are any change in my address and any changes in my banking society. Biv) Describe the procedure to follow if you wanted to raise a grievance at work. You may describe this in writing or produce a flow chart or diagram. A grievance is that if I had a concern, problem or complaint at work, I might want to take this up with my manager. This is called raising a grievance and I may want to raise a grievance about: * things that I am being asked to do as part of my job

* the terms and conditions of my employment contract for example my pay * the way I am being treated at work
* discrimination at work
To help sort this grievance out, I would either talk straight to my manager/duty manager or another member of senior staff. I would sit and talk through my problems with them and listen to any comments they may have and if they have any suggestions for resolving the matter. If I did not agree with the comments made by the manager, I could write a letter to appeal against them and then I would have to send this letter to my area manager, head office or HR. Bv) Explain the agreed ways of working with your employer in relation to the following areas, data protection, grievance, conflict management, anti-discriminatory practise, health and safety, confidentiality and whistleblowing. The data protection act is mandatory. It is essential that the company I am employed for fully complies with it. By following the data protection act it doesn’t only avoid prosecution and bad publicity, but it demonstrates to parents and carers that the company operates with due diligence and responsibility. Every Employer should keep personal details for every worker confidential and this information includes: * name

* address
* date of birth
* sex
* education and qualifications
* work experience
* NI number
* Tax code
* details of any known disability
* emergency contact details
