Epiglottis Research Paper

I have always been interested in the human body. So why not learn more about it? When I get older I want to be an orthodontist. Learning about digestive system helps me learn more about how the body works. Before I started this research I didn’t really know that much about the digestive system. I mostly knew the basics, like that food moves from the mouth to the throat to the stomach and then leaves the body. But in reality there is much more to digestion that I didn’t know about. I found plenty of useful information from a lot of different websites. During my research i learned that the epiglottis is a big part of digestion. My favorite is the stomach because is is a very important body part. On the average person the stomach is about the size of their own two fists. This is one of the most important organs and it acts like a food storage until it digests. The stomach contains hydrochloric acid and digestive enzymes that break down and digest the food. Our stomach is full of wrinkles that are called gastric folds it let's the stomach stretch so it can hold large amounts of food. It also helps to move food during digestion.

This experience to research the digestive system has been an amazing opportunity to have. The paper I wrote on this topic is what gave me all the information put together so I specifically know what order food is digested. Many informational websites provided me the facts I needed to complete my paper. I got to conduct this paper the way I wanted and I think it when well. I hope other students and adults get to read my 10 paragraph paper on how the digestive system works. Now that i know how food gives us energy, I will think about how much energy i will get from this
